SOTD: All Stats Dec 10-15, YTD update

Post#1 » by BorisDK1 » Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:18 pm

So there's a bunch of things I have to play catchup with. Three games have passed and I have the updates available now. I've switched hosting to divshare.com, which you'll find is safer and faster than mediafire.com was.

December 10, vs. DEN

December 11, @ DET

December 14, @ CHA

December 15, vs. CHI

Year-to-Date Update as of today

That's wasteful. Think of the environment: use it as toilet paper instead.

Thanks Boris. It looks like the sorting by Drat and Orat is messed up in some of your files.

Damn. Yeah, I forgot to sort them in the Detroit and Chicago games, it seems.

The numbers are correct, just not sorted. I guess that shouldn't detract - much.

Just think of it as reading material for otherwise high-quality feces, then.

I meant to post this in the other thread with all the suggestions but wouldn't Dropbox be more convenient for all parties. It would be easier for you to upload files since you would just have to save the document in your local dropbox folder and give downloaders direct access to the pdf instead of relying on these file hosting services. Just a little food for thought.

So it appears DeMar isn't doing too bad...relatively speaking. Kleiza isn't a net loss. We ought to be better without Jose. And we should have been much better without Reggie.

Boris, I thought you said earlier that a stop% above .500 is pretty good, but we have a bunch of guys who are doing that, did I misunderstand you?

What IS a good stop%? .520 and above? Then .550% and above is great?

There are some pretty unpredictable results we've seen lately. Our defense has actually suffered since Jose went down (although I'm fairly convinced it's not as a result of Jose going down) and same with Reggie, which is also somewhat surprising.

Statistically, I'm not sure you can narrow the blame for what's going on at this point to one or two or even three people. I know Bargnani's everybody's favourite whipping boy on the defensive end, and he certainly has plenty of significant faults, but this team didn't look so hot without him.

Basically, at this point it seems that in the past ten or so games the team has decided that it's going to try a little on defense, but has decided that it will decide itself by how it performs offensively. That's a huge concern, it's affecting everybody and it's very worrying. Something needs to be done to correct that.

.505 Stop% @ .200 DPs% would have been league average last year. .600 @ .200 DPs% is getting up into the all-time greats (estimated).

Thanks for the stats Boris!

Question: My impression is this season is that Bargs is an above average man defender and below average help defender. While Amir is an average man defender and average help defender.

Do that stats support this? If so, while not put Bargs on the most dangerous forward and Amir on the least dangerous?

Chrome worked fine for me. Click, then you go to a website with a DOWNLOAD button. Hit it, but then you have to wait a while.....maybe 20sec.....and then another DOWNLOAD buttons shows up. Click and you get the file. I have Adthwart. Do you have some No Script type extension?
