GT: Spurs vs. Nuggets

Where: Pepsi Center, Denver, CO

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

Nuggets:
PG - Ty Lawson
SG - Arron Afflalo
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Shelden Williams
C - Nene

After a huge win over the Bucks last night we're going to be playing the ever dangerous Nuggets tonight. And as always the key to beating the Nuggets is going to be stopping/containing Carmelo Anthony. We need to do our best to keep him out the paint and we need to turn him into a volume shooter. But in Melo's career he's only averaging 20.2 PPG against us and thats his lowest average against any team in the Western Conference. Hopefully the momentum from last nights big shot by Manu can carry through to this game for us.

Chauncey Billups will not play for the Nuggets due to a wrist injury and Chris Andersen will also be out with a back injury.

Go Spurs!!

Hope we take this one but I don't have a good feeling. B2B, on the road. Good for us that Chauncey is out.

I'm hoping our younger members really contribute a lot tonight. Heaven knows Manu is probably tired.

Splitter is not playing tonight. Would've been a great match up against Nene. They know each other pretty well i think..
Even though it's a b2b on the road, Manu "only" played 30 minutes last night. I don't know why i see Ime Udoka playing some minutes this game..oh yes, i know, to guard Melo when RJ is on the bench.

Raps fan here, I know off topic but since you brought his name I wanted to ask. How is he doing (Tiago) with the team? I know he missed training camp because of injury, but still I think he should get more mins.!

Manu saves the day again. Easily the best clutch player in the league at the moment, not only shows his talent on the offensive end on this one, but an amazing defensive play!!

On a team note, these types of games were the ones we were constantly losing last season. Shows what having a healthy roster that know how to work with each other can do..

I hate charges, but you gotta do what you gotta do to win a game.

Nice game by Duncan.

Refs blew a lot of calls near the end but made the correct call when it counted. Thank god for Obi Wan

What a game! TD with the throwback performance, surprised he played so many minutes, esp on a B2B.

That last minute was hard to watch! Melo hit a couple nice shots and that charge call was tough.

Great shot from Manu.

Yes, he was injured. He is not having too many playing time cause the other 4 bigs are playing very good. Blair struggled a little bit, but as being the youngest and "the future big" he will have playing time.
If we continue to give Timmy and Dice some rest, it would open opportunities for Tiago.

b2b game winner by Manu and what a game by Timmy..

Tiago's biggest obstacle is his ability to play with Tim Duncan. Right now he's just Tim's backup. He's got to be able to play with Tim if he wants bigger minutes. Plus, he needs to better understand the system and get familiar with the rest of his teammates. It's really hard to see him contribute much this year. Teams don't play 5 bigs in the playoffs. They usually play 3 bigs with the 4th guy having really limited minutes. The 5th guy (Splitter) is reduced to insurance policy in case of foul trouble or injuries.
