So essentially Igoudala for Weems, an expiring, and the same type of pick you get for Terrence Williams? I will pass.

ESPN's Ric Bucher wrote on Thursday that he heard the Trail Blazers offered Nicolas Batum and Joel Przybilla in a trade for Andre Iguodala, but the 76ers "didn't bite."
Batum was once considered "untouchable" in trades but apparently the Blazers have changed how they view him.

WTF!!!! If true, I would've done the deal.

I put the following in another Iguodala thread and thought it needs to be in here as well:

You ever notice how on the Sixers forum every single Iguodala trade brings back players that are not better than Iguodala? But the proposed Nicolas Batum and Joel Przybilla trade by Portland improves Portland's talent? What's wrong with this picture? Why are Sixers fans so willing to trade their own players clearly for less NBA talent instead of more NBA talent? I haven't seen a single Sixers trade here that includes Iguodala where Iguodala wasn't the best NBA player in the entire deal. Well, maybe there was a Iguodala for Carmelo trade somewhere but that was it...

Would Philly consider
Iggy and one of Speights or Hawes.
for
FC Andray Blatche, SG Nick Young, C Marcin Gortat and a Orlando 1st Rounder?

With the Arenas thing likely going down in the next 24-48hrs with rumors of a 3rd team being involved and Philly being in Orlando (with Iggy on the block) right now its got us thinking. Orlando is trying to stack up to attempt to go after Boston and Miami.

I would say that offer would interest me. I have some maturity concerns around Young and Blatche, but I trust Collins to coach em up.

EIther the Portland deal or the Orlando/Washington deal would be worth considering. Batum is a long SF, and JP a serviceable center...long term (with Batum) it may be a beneficial trade.

Blatche and Young are young and talented, Gortat brings you the same inside presence as JP...not sure about AB's attitude, but he's talented.

I think we'll get a sense of where the franchise is going over the next 2 weeks...last night showed how valuable it is to have long, defensive minded players so I'm all for adding some additional length. Still would be willing to send the Knicks a protected 1 for Randolph, and would part with Turner or Iguodala in a deal that included Favors.

Any 2011 first round pick for Iguodala needs to be completely unprotected. Right now it's doubtful that any of those players develop into a pro that overall is as good as Iguodala. The Sixers don't need another Evan Turner that can't contribute. The draft pick is only as valuable as the available prospects.

I like that deal a lot (sending Speights).

One thing that kills the Sixers is a good team with length, and this would help.

I dislike it a lot.

We trade for two headaches, who underachieve. Great way how to build a team LOL.

Batum is average. An average building block for an average team.

If anyone watched the LAkers game, we saw where we get hurt. We need better frontcourt players. Our youth and hope lies in the backcourt. As you cans ee, Jrue had an off night and we lose. 3-15 is not a good game for him. But also to think that ET couldn't even get in the game is just disgusting. Jrue, Lou and Meeks did squat in that game and to think that DC couldn't use ET at all. Why not just trade him then. Not very happy. We weren't going to beat the Lakers. We had no shot. But i am still about moving forward in getting peices that will make this team better. I stillt hink that we need to trade Iggy for a fron line player or a true SG.

I think Batum is extremely underrated. Considering his shooting ability, defensive ability, and untapped potential I think he has, he's a great building block to pair with Jrue and Turner. He's not the overall player Iguodala is, but he's a much better fit with those two, while improving our shooting and not much of a drop defensively, and coming at a significantly reduced price. If you have confidence in Turner's upside, Batum's a tremendous fit.

out of all these trades rumors, I like this one more because of Batum's upside.

but wasn't the rumor saying Portland want to get rid of their veterans? why are they giving up on Batum already?

and if Przyibilla can stay healthy, he would be a much better defensive fit next to Brand.

but that's IF Turner can develop into someone to build around. right now, we have no clue because he is simply not playing.

I'm not a big Batum fan and I wouldn't do that deal.

Also, is there anything more pretentious than pronouncing Batum as "buh-toom"? I know that's how he pronounces it, but man if I was in a real life conversation with someone about the guy and they kept pronouncing it that way I would have to tell them to STFU.

I call him bay-tum. How it should be pronounced. Yes, I know he's french and I don't care.

What about this 3 way deal that makes sense for all teams.

Sixers receive- OJ Mayo, Hasheem Thabeet
Memphis receive- Batum, Pryzbilla, and Fernandez
Portland receive- Iguodala

The sixers new lineup
Jrue/Lou
Mayo/Meeks
Turner/Thad
Brand /Thad
Hawes/Thabeet

I'd rather have Batum, Pryz, & Rudy than OJ and Thabeet at this point.
