should we have drafted Darko?

Post#1 » by RRT » Wed Dec 15, 2010 11:53 am

Say, in 2003 we haven't won the lottery, cause that's only way pretty much you pass up on LeBron.

Grizzlies won the lottery and Detroit drafts LeBron. We do what Detroit did and draft Darko.

7 years later.

Detroit wins, 3-4 titles, easily.

Shaq/Kobe split doesn't happen, cause they know they're not going to win individually.

Darko actually has room to grow in Cleveland, ends up being an all star, and we build around him, eventually becoming top 4 team in the east. No division or conference titles, but, 1000x better off.

Or would you have it the way we did?

Or you could draft the superstar Dwyane Wade or the perennial all stars Melo and Bosh... but hey Darko rocks! He got his career high in points last night - 25 points!! The same amount of points LeBron got in his first NBA game ever.....

it's like marrying a really hot girl that leaves you after 7 years of marriage. (like a supermodel, imagine a hottest damn girl in the world)

or... you have a girl that was young, she was hot but she was young, could of been great but it was a gamble, and had potential, but she went with some other dude who turned her into a meth head, then later on, she is trying to get her life together, and is showing some potential. Nevertheless, misused. but you know damn fell if you married her life would of been alot better.

but, at least you had 7 good years of lebron vagina.

something like that?

No we should not have drafted Darko lmao.

Where's that Joker "Not Sure if Serious pic" when you need it?

Lebron was the right pic. He's the best player in the league.

Lebron's best teamate in his entire 7 years in cleveland was Jamison or Mo.

So blame Cavs management for that. Not for drafting Lebron.

You can look back in the past and say we woulda, shoulda, could've done a lot of things differently.

Like we should not have signed Larry Hughes.

We should not have wasted the 8th Overall Pick on Luke F'ing Jackson.

I don't think Darko was the 2nd best prospect in the draft. At the time I thought it was Melo, LeBron, Darko. Obviously the Cavaliers didn't have a choice, they had to draft LeBron for P.R. purposes and it turned out to be the right move anyway.

Darko has been given ample opportunity to become a star...he's just not. The Cavaliers made the right move, and even in hindsight I'd do the same thing. Especialy with Melo looking to follow in LeBron's footsteps.

yeah i don't agree... for example, boozer? av? z?

we obviously haven't had much luck in the draft, who would of known wagner (or diop) would turn out way they did, or that boozer is a scumbag, but we still lucked out on some 2nd round and the av pick..

obviously could of done much better but, draft isn't always the way to go, look at teams like warriors, memphis, and clippers, who are damn near every day on very top of the lottery, yet, they never build a decent team. It's really a lottery just like the word says. All pure luck.

Would we? That is like saying we should have forfeited our first 2003 pick. Stop thinking about pointless scenarios and get over it.

We would have killed ourselves 5 years ago when LeBron was winning MVPs and mass championships in detroit and we were stuck with an **** big man who couldnt crack the rotation on our **** team.

Detroit would not have had the 1st overall pick in the 2003 draft. The pick originally belonged to the Grizzlies as part of the Otis Thorpe trade and was protected for the 1st overall pick. The pick would have returned to the Grizzlies had it been the top pick.

Except you don't get to have sex with her, unless you get her a ring. But you can't find a jewelry store anywhere! God it's like a bad dream...

You do realize there would likely not currently be professional basketball in Cleveland had the Cavs drafted Darko.....

You should have drafted Wade, then he could have coerced LeBron and Bosh to join you guys. :D

No, I know how much Lebron is hated on this board, but I did enjoyed the 7 yrs that he was with the cavs. Drafting darko would not of brought the cavs close to the success Lebron brought to the cavs....
