I've only read the comments (haven't watched the video), but I would think it would go well beyond borderline tampering. You can say something like, "We've had talks with Washington", but to specifically mention Arenas doesn't seem wise unless a deal is more or less done. Now, as a Wizards fan, I hope we get the contract of Vince Carter (don't care about the player), but I think it's much more likely it will be Lewis and perhaps a minor sweetener.

oh wait LOLZ Smileyface!

to madball and birth of cool, what exactly has vince done for you guys to be supporting him so much? All he does is jack up shots. Rarely does he drive in or create plays for his teammates. When he's on fire, yes he is fun to watch but we are still losing those games when he has his shooting going for him. Arenas is miles ahead of Carter at this point in their career.

There was never any whisperings about any Charlotte involvement.
Remember, teams rarely trade within their division.
Washington is the only rare exception because of the vastly huge contracts of Gilbert, Rashard, and Carter being thrown about.

Because 15/4/3 on 47% shooting playing only 30min/game with limited touches is still good, it's just not great, and this team needs a great perimeter player ( I doubt Gilbert is that guy, but hey, who knows). What I on't get is the people that think he's been awful. They must've been confusing him with rashard or q or something, I don't get it

This is why I love having basketball discussions with you when it comes to Vince because it shows how weak your arguments are and then how much worse your rebuttals are.

When did ANYBODY say Vince never got the ball in NJ?

It was ignored in the Vince Arenas comparison.

Ok some people have already discussed it a bit but here is the stuff I can recall from that Otis Interview (just in case some people can't or don't want to watch the video):
* Otis replied out of a scale of 10, discussions pertaining to Arenas has been an 8
* more concerned about Arenas health & length of contract than Character issues (knows Arenas, calls him a good guy)
* West Coast Trip was key in his evaluation of this team (implying the 1-4 trip prompted the trade discussions)
* even if Arenas brought in it is up to Stan to make it work
* someone asked if he is willing to take a step back (i.e. reduce talent, payroll, etc) right now to allow the team to be better in the future (report implying take a hit in talent now but make a splash later - likely during Dwight FA period) & Otis said he doesn't know how to do that (so rebuild doesn't seem to be in his plans but more tweaking team to get better)
* has talked to Washington, Phoenix & Denver. Has not talked to Charlotte.
* mentioned that Arenas is a guy who does handle the ball a lot but then seemed to dismiss concerns about a Nelson/Arenas pairing...mentioned he doesn't care who handles the ball (made a joke that he'd let Dwight handle the ball going up the court if it made sense)
* says team may stay the same, or change made but the overwhelming feeling I got from the video is that at the very least he is pretty high on getting Arenas (personally after watching that vid I'm thinking the Arenas trade is very legit).
* expects everyone to suit up tonight (but said it jokingly like trade is emminent - my personal view again)
* didn't mention any names in trade talks even though one reporter asked if everyone but Dwight is on the table

Also I think Dana White lent Otis a UFC or MMA T-Shirt lol.

Ok that's all my feeble brain can remember off hand that was important

Nothing is better than having a debate about Carter with NoLimit involved. The funniest thing is you point out how Vince went 1-9 in the ECF yet you never realize that him going 1-9 didn't lead to them losing, the Magic actually won that game. Why is it that you never mention going 9-18 in ECF which is a game the Magic lost? Oh wait, because he actually played good that game so you can't blame that loss on him. Or how about the fact that you never bring up the fact that other players struggled during that series too during the games the Magic actually lost such as Dwight going 3-10 in games 1 and 3 and Jameer going 4-12 in game 2? I just find it hilarious how you critisize Vince's two worst games but those were in fact the games the Magic won yet never point any blame to other players for playing bad in the games that the Magic actually LOST.

Also he did indeed shoot 8% from 3 but that was only in the 1st round, not the 2nd round as well, check your facts. As far as the FT's go, yeah he is definitely to blame for that. It is unacceptable to miss 2 ft's in a clutch situation like that, I agree there. However, it happens and others have done the same ala Gilbert Arenas:
Gil is definitely a risk. But in terms of what he can do in the fourth, that's not the risk. He's hit more big shots than anyone on this team and can create for himself. Everybody misses sometimes. He's made a lot more than he's missed in clutch time.

The difference is ARENAS led his team to that GAME 6. Vince was a no show the entire playoffs.

I don't know, I think we might need to get Mr. David Stern in here for clarification. Right after he finishes his turkey bagel.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
