Agreed, if BPA is Perry Jones, just package out Amir or Davis in a trade. If Davis impresses this year, he would have certain value when weighed against the uncertain value of a just-drafted player. At the least, we could flip him for another pick in the 7-10 range. So it's BPA all the way.

Ya, Perry Jones is one guy I really think will impress and we might have to draft him if he's there for the taking.

Perry Jones can play SF. No need to packege anyone.

If Kyrie's out for the whole season I think he would wanna come back for another season to finish what he has started - to win a championship rather than watching his teammates getting it without him - having Austin River in the 2nd season would motivate him to come back too. Even if Kyrie doesn't enter this year, any year he'll enter he'll remain as top 3 for sure. So it's likely he won't enter this year's draft, that will be sad. Right now I would say either TJ, Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker if we don't get top picks like Perry Jones or ...Barnes.

That's simply not true. Plenty can happen in one year to derail Kyrie Irving's draft status. It's possible that he walks away from a guaranteed top 5 selection in June but, in my opinion, extremely unlikely.

It'll take a whole lot to derail his draft status, perhaps hiding marijuana or some crimes lol. If we get top 3 pick this year and Irving's not in the draft that would suck for us, and if we don't have top 3 picks and he's in this year, that would suck for us again, if seeing Clippers or Kings taking Irving ahead of us, that would suck deep! Irving might take the first pick throne this year, so damn it why does he have to be this good, it's harder for us to compete with others to get him now.

A serious injury could do it.

Hell, lots of things could, if we're talking about a smaller drop in his draft stock. Maybe the team just isn't as good and he's forced to look for his own offence more at the expense of efficiency and he gets a rap as a bad team player. Maybe he still looks good but doesn't show scouts that he's grown by leaps and bounds in his sophomore year and they worry that he's close to his ceiling.

Those scenarios aren't necessarily likely but you just never know. NBA scouts can be a fickle lot and it doesn't take much for a player to fall from that top tier. Sure, there's a chance he goes back to school for another year to finish what he started... but I'd say it's a lot more likely that he (and the people advising him) will survey a bad draft, realize he's a near-lock to go top 3 and he'll decide to declare.

Staying in school for another year when you're considered a lock to be drafted in the top 3 is a big, big risk.

If Kyrie goes back and suffers another injury, his draft stock will plummet like Ed's did. But not to the teens but he'll fall. What's even worse is that all early returns indicate a stacked draft in 2012 with a ton of point guards. He'll have much more competition next year, hell, he'll have much more competition on his own team with Rivers and Quincy joining Duke.

It would be an absolutely terrible move for him to go back for another year. He should just ride his hype to this draft and get picked in the top 3, most likely #1 if nobody blows up from here on out.

I see no benefit in him returning.

Let's hope his Duke pride doesn't get to him and makes stupid decision to stay another year. I wonder Kyle Singler if he had left he could have been top 10, now he's another year older entering the draft and possibly be taken from between 11-15th pick.

It would be interesting to see River and Irving fighting for the #1 status but this year's draft Irving will be #1 for sure like you said. It's not like Barnes will blow up a 25 + points consecutive night anyways or could he...? And I can't see Perry Jones as #1, at best he's 2 or 3. nbadraft.net is hyping him as 1, crazy.

Josh Selby's debut: 21 points, 5 of 11 shooting, 5 of 8 from downtown and 5 rebound

He hits a clutch 3-pointer in the final 40 seconds and helps seal the win against USC. What a debut for the freshman, it reminds me of John Wall's debut in college too.

Josh Selby basically won the game for Kansas in his return from the suspension. Selby, overall, had 21 pts 5-12 FG, 5-9 3pt, 6-7 FT.

He looks like a combo guard to me, who is very explosive off of the dribble. I need to see more of him than just one game, but he was impressive today. Made clutch shot after clutch shot.

Heartbreaker for DeMar DeRozan's USC squad though, they had a chance to take this game, but a turnover late sealed their fate.

I only saw the last 3 minutes of the game, man I didn't know he could make shots this good, I thought he was more of a slashing type due to his insane athleticism.

Holy Sullinger is killing it in the 1st half: 11 points 6 rebound already

Yeah, he's a pretty good shooter, from the looks of it. I didn't get a good grasp of his PG abilities, however.

Barnes with the game-tying 3 just now. UNC-Texas tied up at 76-76 w/ 11 sec. left.

Wow, you are assuming we got top 5 pick in the draft?
Very very unlikely. There are 7 teams under .300, and we are between another 7 teams hovering around .400 (which isn't including the new tank nation Phoenix Suns). We might end up around 10-13.

I'm liking the idea of Kanter and Valanciunus if the word about the latter being an intense rebound/defensive guy is true.

I don't see any stars here aside from Irving, so we might as well take a 7 footer who can defend since every team needs those, IMO. Try for a Noah or Nene
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change
