Sidenote, I think Vince will have a resurgence in Phoenix. A few years ago this would have been ideal for him, but a Nash-Carter fastbreak is still pretty nasty

I dont understand the gloom people are predicting for the magic. Vince and Shard were not the answer and we are getting back 3 better players.

Gilbert is owed 20 million more dollars over the remainder of their contracts. Somehow he took on even more money.

So no, he gets no credit from me.

Otis Smith was handed the best center in basketball... not just the best center, but the only true center left... and somehow managed to **** it all up. That's inexcusable.

Vince will be great in Phoenix.

Hedo will play MUCH better than he has in TOR and PHX.

I think the gloom is because there was a tiny bit of light at the end of the tunnel with Vince and Shard since they didn't have THAT many years left (and Vince was almost an expiring).

Now the Magic will have all that money tied up for many more years into players like Hedo and Gilbert. So if this doesn't work, Dwight's going to have to have a LOT of faith in his front office to stay in Orlando.

If Nash could get Vince to show some aggression and play with some sort of fire 50% of the time he's on the floor, they get better.

That's even if Vince remains there, I still believe he's gonna get bought out..

From what I can tell from the games that I watched, Richardson is a much better player at this point then Carter. This is purely financial from Suns point of view IMO>

I agree that Richardson is a better player than Carter. But not much better. A bit better.

However, their team will improve immensely with the presence of Gortat (and to some extent, Pietrus). They'll be able to compete defensively and on the boards. The downside offensively will be negligible, the improvement on other aspects will be huge.

There's not gloom & doom for Orlando, but giving up Pietrus was a bad mistake. The Phoenix deal is a horrible deal for Orlando. Magic could have gotten much more for VC.

I guess I can understand the long term uncertainty, but short term, this deal makes us better.
