The point is that Suns aren't really interesting in winning but the bottom line. I am sure if there is a good offer for him and that the Suns aren't a playoff team by the TD they would be more inclined to trade him for esp if they get a good prospect and picks.

they had to turn the roster over, that team had pretty much maxed out and hit the wall now

The Magics won 59 games with VC and lewis as they're starters..

and what happened when it counted against BOS?

they folded and choked, BOTH of them

Carter doesn't run the break.. At all..

Uh, not true, when Carter played in New Jersey, him, Kidd and Jefferson would run the break quite well.

Not sure I agree with the Arenas trade, but the suns portion is a total win for the Magic. I'd take Richardson over VC outright at this point, and Turkgolu should feel right at home back in a Magic uni. Earl Clark might get some burn, and giving up Gortat and Pietrus isnt too bad. If I were them I'd hold on to Shard and see how this new team does first.

an overall upgrade imo.

They add an extra shooter to jack treys, but defensively, that team might be worse..

He got rid of Lewis and brought in Hedo and Arenas. I would rather have the former.

My problem is the big man rotation of Howard, Anderson, Bass (and Hedo as a small ball option). That's too short.

I agree with the major rationale though: they weren't going anywhere with their former roster.

why do you need JRich if you're gonna trade for Arenas and vice versa? And in process trade your only PF (Lewis) and getting even softer one in Hedo?

Otis just doing a change for the sake of the change.

I'm assuming Arenas will be playing point (either off the bench or replacing Jameer in the starting lineup) with Hedo at sf

I don't know if replacing them with Hedo Turkoglu and Gilbert Arenas makes that statement any different.

hedo has shown up in the POs b4, VC packs it in and folds like a baby

Since when does Carter run on the break? He didn't even do it when he played with Kidd.

I still don't see how this trade changes that. Except that now they have bigger chances of being a playoff team by the trade deadline making a Nash deall less probable.

I'm hearing the same things I heard from magic fans when they traded for Carter and let Hedo go!

"Carter > Hedo", except now its "Jason Richardson > Carter".

brb standing at the 3 point line

LOL @ ppl thinking VC is going to have a resurgence in PHX. The guy crapped the bed when he was playing near his home town for a championship. Nevermind the fact that the Suns have pretty much mailed it in for the season.

No. No they didn't.. This was one of the pet peeves that Nets fans had about Vince. He'd mostly be the last guy up the court when Kidd and RJ were breaking.

an overall upgrade imo.

The Magic aren't winning a title with Hedo starting at PF. At the very least, Bass should be starting and Hedo as the 6th man.

i think a bigger question from the phx side of things now is how much longer will nash remain a member of the suns.

edit: my mistake assuming the suns look at this trade as an overall upgrade since they get the best big in the deal in gortat.

We've been among the league leaders in salaries since Sarver got here. We don't save any money in this trade. There's a difference between being cheap and incompetent. You have no idea what you are talking about.
