Not only do you trade Vince Carter for one of the few guys who plays even less defense, but you also trade a legit 7 footer, who'd start on a lot of teams for Hedo and his horrific contract. On top of that you add a future 1st and cash. So bad.

The Wizards trade I'm fine with.

You haven't seen Jason Richardson for 1 second this year. He has been completely on fire and is the go-to-guy we need. We also have Gilbert Arenas now and a much better Hedo Turkoglu.

ALSO, WE JUST DUMPED RASHARD LEWIS DUDE

yeah. turk or arenas coming off the bench would be ideal if they would be team players about it.

agreed. I forgot how valuable he is as an asset.

Great, now we have no backup C.

I don't think the Shard for Arenas trade is done yet, and if it doesn't happen, then it makes our trade with the Suns that much worse.

I'm with you, I would have made both at the same time. One can only hope that Otis hung up on PHX and immediately called WAS.

Basically, these trades present some roster imbalances.

Nelson/Arenas/J-Rich/Hedo/Howard (too small)
Arenas/J-Rich/Hedo/Bass/Howard with Nelson on the bench (better option)

No Arenas trade...

Nelson/J-Rich/Hedo/Lewis/Howard (ideal, IMO)
Nelson/J-Rich/Lewis/Bass/Howard with Hedo on the bench (also pretty good, IMO)

Picking up Arenas lets you work out a separate deal for Nelson, or stash him on the bench if you wish. A trade might get you better value, a defensive wing stopper off the bench, maybe a borderline prospect, something you can augment the "star" players with. Contracts aside, not sure if Lewis for Arenas is a move I'd be pleased my team is considering after making the first move.

A positive for you guys is that you won't have some of teh VC homers positng on your board. That alone almost makes this trade good.

Hedo has claimed to have changed his diet and workout regimen. I think he lost like 25 lbs. Guess we will see soon enough.

Don't know what to think about this deals. I like the Arenas for Lewis trade and i'm happy with J-Rich but i don't know about Hedo. He was a big factor in our Finals run but after his Tor/Pho period i'm not sure about him anymore. Hope Hedo is in our second unit.

I can't wait until everything is finalized and we get some player comments. Monday shall be a good day. Let's see what else unfolds. Obviously if Gortat is gone, we need another big. Duhon could be on the move too. This really is better salary wise now and for the future. Assuming the Shard deal goes through.
