Since when does Carter run on the break? He didn't even do it when he played with Kidd.

You didn't see as often there because of Frank's slow pace offense. Going to Phoenix with Nash is bound to change that

The Magic aren't winning a title with Hedo starting at PF. At the very least, Bass should be starting and Hedo as the 6th man.

this is just preliminary speculation on my part... you may very well see a bass/howard starting front line with hedo and jrich on the wings... meaning you'd see arenas off the bench.

I still don't see how this trade changes that. Except that now they have bigger chances of being a playoff team by the trade deadline making a Nash deall less probable.

I think differently my friend... I don't think of the players that they got back as real difference makers unless Gorat just proves me wrong.

The thing is, J-Rich is more of a chucker than Vince. He's accurate, sure, but he doesn't move the ball at all (1.4 assists), and a 1/3 of his shot attempts are 3's. I thought Orlando had enough 3-point shooting.

At this point, they'd better hope Arenas gets back to attacking the basket, because that's their only hope of this working out.

So what? They weren't at the start of the season either. I'm not saying they shouldn't trade Nash, I'm saying I don't see how this makes a Nash trade more probable.

The point is that Suns aren't really interesting in winning but the bottom line. I am sure if there is a good offer for him and that the Suns aren't a playoff team by the TD they would be more inclined to trade him for esp if they get a good prospect and picks.

Yeah we did. We cleared ourselves of Hedo's contract that still has 3 more years on it. VC is an expiring. We can make a splash in FA this offseason plus we have 2 first round picks now.

They aren't difference makers. But Gortat is an above average starting center and a very good defender and rebounder. Plus, he's very good on transition. He brings what they need in terms of collective skill-set. And Pietrus gives a perimeter stopper that they also need.

Teams don't always need "better" players to improve. Sometimes teams improving by unloading talent for balance and versatility. That's what Phoenix did here.

They do have enough 3 point shooters, but none of them are effective enough. They are 17th in the league in 3pt%, last year they were top 3 in 3pt%.

I agree with this. For some reason people concentrate on Hedo-Carter part of the trade but Richardson is the best player in the deal and I think a good fit for the Magic.

So JRich is a worse option than Vince because instead of passing he makes his 3s at an alarming rate? WTF.

This only makes sense if the plan to start Arenas at PG, cause otherwise they'd have too many guys who're demanding the ball (basically the entire lineup of Nelson, Arenas, JRich, Hedo and Dwight) and they would be just too soft (you're going nowhere with Hedo at the 4).

So, with that being said, they better suit the next lineup
