That would be fantastic, but I doubt the Wizards' GM is that dumb.

I like the trades. Arenas > Lewis period. Lewis was dead weight and he will be on the decline for the rest of his contract. Richardson/Hedo > Carter/Pietrus. Gortat was really the only loss since he is a good backup for Howard, but we can always replace him IMO with a veteran center.

Yes this looks like a win now at all cost move. Not really sure about this one. We have really now no backup center and its not like Dwight never gets into foul trouble. Then theres the "will we have richardson next year anyway? and at what cost then?" question. I guess I am going to wait to hear the Arenas trade go down and all the details bfore I pass final judgement but I can definitely see your point.

Phoneix got what they wanted though. Pieces they want that they don't have to worry about signing next year and they dumped Hedo's contract. I HAVE to think that that was at their insistence not that we wanted HEdo back. amnd a pcik too? thts not too shabby if they didn't intend on signing Jriich next year.

Right now Otis is trying to save his job... and save the Magic. The long term future of this deal is far from the primary purpose for getting this done. This is about winning NOW. ...and I think that is the right approach for this team. Dwight isn't as concerned about our 2011 first round pick and how that player will help us down the road, as I'm assuming, he is about getting J-Rich and Hedo back. Besides, Clark could end up equalizing the value of that first rounder.

There's nothing bad that I can see about this trade. I doubt we lose Richardson in the offseason. We have his bird rights.

Didn't read the thread and I have a question.

How does this effect jameer nelson ? He is going to be more/less productive ? Should I try to trade him away in my fantasy league ? Is he going to come off the bench ? Maybe he will get traded on a separate deal ?

Expect to be shorthanded tonight. Very shorthanded. Truthfully, though, as long as we don't stay in foul trouble I think we'll be alright. Redick can score well. We'll still have Jameer and Dwight. Plus Bass.

So looking at the big picture, what do these trades do financially for the Magic in 2012 ?

On the 2012 factor, they took on some pretty big contracts so there really be any wiggle room unless Dwight bolts.

I do feel this could help in the short term and maybe even for a few years now that they have guys who can create their own offense.

I do expect this team to play small at times too with Turkoglu at the 4.

While I really think Gilbert Arenas could help out for a few years, I believe Turkoglu is breaking down and we will see his play deteroiate. He could be used in go-to situations but is not going to be a big minutes guy.

Overall, these trades are a big risk and I am not high on giving up Gortat with no big to replace him and the 2011 first.

I just think we gave up too much in the Phoenix deal. Even though Vince and Gortat have been pissing me the hell off lately, I still think they had some value. The only player I'm really gonna miss is Pietrus, and I guess Rashard.

Is the Arenas trade official? Could be more players in that trade right?

Anderson/Lewis for Blatche/Arenas works. That would be awesome if they would do that deal.

intersting trades....

i watched many phx games this year and richardson is a machine. orlando fan are gonna love him.

hedo played pf at phx and as we all know he is not really a pf. it didnt worked out too good for him(and phx). hope he plays like orlandos hedo when he comes back.

lewis for arenas is a very good trade.

but one question...who will be dwights backup?

I don't know. Chemistry can come quickly if we play a couple of good games out of the gate. If we do that, we may never look back.

So by losing Rashard and Vince contracts , that does not help us in 2012. Will be really pissed if Dwight leaves Orlando. In fact I will no longer be a Magic fan if Dwight leaves. Can't not go through losing another player of Shaq/Dwight caliber. Been a fan since day one, mom took me to that Magic/Pistons exhibition game back in '89 when I was six.

Random thoughts: stretch 4 may still happen from time to time if Stan works Ryan back into the rotation with Hedo.

We give up VC stans and get Hedo stans back. Fun, fun place these boards will be.
