I liked a few VC fans here though... hopefully guys like RvM still stick around here.

Yes this looks like a win now at all cost move. Not really sure about this one. We have really now no backup center and its not like Dwight never gets into foul trouble. Then theres the "will we have richardson next year anyway? and at what cost then?" question. I guess I am going to wait to hear the Arenas trade go down and all the details bfore I pass final judgement but I can definitely see your point.
Phoneix got what they wanted though. Pieces they want that they don't have to worry about signing next year and they dumped Hedo's contract. I HAVE to think that that was at their insistence not that we wanted HEdo back. amnd a pcik too? thts not too shabby if they didn't intend on signing Jriich next year.

Right now Otis is trying to save his job... and save the Magic. The long term future of this deal is far from the primary purpose for getting this done. This is about winning NOW. ...and I think that is the right approach for this team. Dwight isn't as concerned about our 2011 first round pick and how that player will help us down the road, as I'm assuming, he is about getting J-Rich and Hedo back. Besides, Clark could end up equalizing the value of that first rounder.
There's nothing bad that I can see about this trade. I doubt we lose Richardson in the offseason. We have his bird rights.

I do feel this could help in the short term and maybe even for a few years now that they have guys who can create their own offense.
I do expect this team to play small at times too with Turkoglu at the 4.
While I really think Gilbert Arenas could help out for a few years, I believe Turkoglu is breaking down and we will see his play deteroiate. He could be used in go-to situations but is not going to be a big minutes guy.
Overall, these trades are a big risk and I am not high on giving up Gortat with no big to replace him and the 2011 first.
