we weren't going anywhere with the current roster and we're not going anywhere now, but atleast we opened up more financial flexibility

Still am puzzeled with this move. I think it is good to get Hedo out, but Jrich has been thriving with this team playing next to nash. Im not sure what VC is going to do with us. I think he will be moved at the deadline for a team that needs a SG. I just cant put my finger on who tho.

I do like Gortat. I think this is a good move and he sould play Center and PF for us. He should get more mins IMO than Lopez.

I just think the FO and Sarver needs to realize that time to rebuild is now. This team to me is no better.

Jchill should be the odd man out now. It would be nice if we could trade him too.

I mean worst case scenario we open up cap room

the roster previously was a first round sweep at best

So now we got a guy in Carter whos on the tail end of his career, a guy in Gortat who will backup Lopez at the most, and a guy in Pietrus whos averages a grand total of 7 & 3 in 23 minutes.

Instead of taking steps forward we take a step back, we never needed a backup center, we never needed an extra wing. What we need is a starting caliber PF or C and unless they've got another trade lined up we're not getting what we need. This is just going to piss Nash off and believe me if he wants a trade he'll get a trade.

**** this team my hate for VC exceeds my love for Nash i really don't think i can watch this team anymore.

what an idiot, Nash is everything that's been keeping us alive. Suns are laughable piece-of-crap team when he sits. they're almost -10 pts per100 poss when he's off the court. that's on pace to generate the whole lots of about 10 wins. Richardson is doing a great job, bo so does everyone next to Nash, as long as Steve has the ball in his hands Suns are gonna be elite offensively.

more importantly Gortat is a very good pick and player as opposed to Robin Lopez AKA "I can challenge Kwame for the worst hands in the league".

Gortat is MUCH better than Lopez, he's one of the better starting centers in the league. he provides elite defense and rebounding, but you guys don't know what you're talking about. Gortat has 18% rebound rate, that's Garnett ballpark. Robin Lopez is below average rebounding center, at 14.7... and that's while stat padding on the worst rebounding team in recent history.

not to mention that losing Turkoglu is HUGE addition by substraction. that fact alone should make us at least 5-10 wins better. Turkoglu at PF is the worst player in the league.

Jrich saying all the right things. I want this guy back already.

What did you want him to say??? I hate this city, I hate this team, everything sucks! Gosh, give me a break: "Jrich is saying all the right things. I want him back"!!! C'mon. Every player will say those things. Such cliche statements. Grow up man. Deal with it. Done.

Yes, the Suns have made another great deal with the Magic! I love those guys. This is like a big brother saving you from the class bully type of bail out right here. We lose Hedo's atrocious contract, while getting a very serviceable big man in Gortat. Gorat will take a ton of pressure off of Lopez and will probably end up starting over Lopez midway through the season.
While I am not overly optomistic like "Bastillon" is, I do believe this trade gets us everything the Suns needed. The only thing that can end up biting the Suns in the ass is how well Earl Clark does in Orlando. If he ends up posting tremendous numbers over there, I will be pissed.
Gortat will be a huge improvement, and I believe he has a high basketball IQ, I can't see how some of you are still pissed. We still have plenty of offense to go around.

Oh Ok, they were talking on the radio about Carter with the Team Option, Peitrus with the player. Got it now. Love to keep Peitrus around but doubt he will stick around.

Man J-Rich was great with the Suns. I wish that Vince can have some of the same success with the Suns.

Man, I'm more excited for Gortat though. He's been itching to get out of Howard's shadow and play a starting role, but I must warn you, he has many faults.

Not the greatest hands, and a little unorganized at times but I think Gortat can be great for this system.

anybody could see this coming from miles away?

Hedo and our PGs had chemistry issues, it was best to cut our losses and move on.

Gortat? Nice pick, would have preferred Bass though.

Pietrus? Often criticized for having a peanut for a brain, but gritty defender. Streaky shooter. Jet another J-Chill with a different game.

Vince? High risk high return type of deal. If it fits, he will light a fire up on our ***.

i am gonna miss JRich, but at least we were able to dump Hedo, and get back a solid shooter/wing defender in Pietrus, and we can see what the miracle medical staff can do to VC, maybe get him playin with some Grant Hill consistency

VC+Pietrus possible pick for Z Randolph+mayo......... VC+Lopez for Josh Smith and filler like Zaza possibly. I dont know. This trade opens up some new avenus for us for sure. Or like Kerrsed said, the pick just could go for AR or Jason Thompson.

Wrong. First of all... Plenty of players leave town with a chip on their shoulder and let it be known on their way off. Second of all Jrich always played his freakin ball off so of course it sucks to see him go. The only good news about this trade is Hedo getting the f out of town. It sucks that he was so awful it took Jrich to do so but so be it.
