Take it easy Miss Sunshine! VC wants the BALL to strive as much as Hedo does  And I am not so sure if our Old Steve is willing to give up his BALL

just wait and see until everything works on the FLOOR. As you said, it is your FANTASY, not real

Yeah, people are forgetting this. I think we'll be just fine. He's not as bad as BALL boy Hedo.

VC will clear some serious $$$$$$$ from payroll after the season. Shame going to be a work stoppage.

You won't worry about Vince calling for most of the possessions. He's always been passive and he's always been fine with playing 2nd fiddle. Vince tried to much to just fit into the system last season with the Magic and he let players like brook lopez and Devin Harris be the main focal points in his last year with the Nets.

VC's not a selfish guy, but I'd really love to see him incorporated in the Suns offense.

So now we got a guy in Carter whos on the tail end of his career, a guy in Gortat who will backup Lopez at the most, and a guy in Pietrus whos averages a grand total of 7 & 3 in 23 minutes.

Instead of taking steps forward we take a step back, we never needed a backup center, we never needed an extra wing. What we need is a starting caliber PF or C and unless they've got another trade lined up we're not getting what we need. This is just going to piss Nash off and believe me if he wants a trade he'll get a trade.

**** this team my hate for VC exceeds my love for Nash i really don't think i can watch this team anymore.

what an idiot, Nash is everything that's been keeping us alive. Suns are laughable piece-of-crap team when he sits. they're almost -10 pts per100 poss when he's off the court. that's on pace to generate the whole lots of about 10 wins. Richardson is doing a great job, bo so does everyone next to Nash, as long as Steve has the ball in his hands Suns are gonna be elite offensively.

more importantly Gortat is a very good pick and player as opposed to Robin Lopez AKA "I can challenge Kwame for the worst hands in the league".

Gortat is MUCH better than Lopez, he's one of the better starting centers in the league. he provides elite defense and rebounding, but you guys don't know what you're talking about. Gortat has 18% rebound rate, that's Garnett ballpark. Robin Lopez is below average rebounding center, at 14.7... and that's while stat padding on the worst rebounding team in recent history.

not to mention that losing Turkoglu is HUGE addition by substraction. that fact alone should make us at least 5-10 wins better. Turkoglu at PF is the worst player in the league.

Suns are 9-4 when Rich scores 20, 3-9 when he doesn't. Im not saying he's the one and only whos keeping us afloat, its the chemistry of him and Nash playing together that does it. We're not gonna see that in VC/Nash if anything VC is gonna turn into a little Turkoglu and want the ball way more than he should have it.

As for Gortat he's averaging 14.2 rebounds in 48 minutes. A whooping 2 rebounds better than what Lopez averages but that being made up for as Lopez is scoring more points than Gortat. So i don;t know how you can say Gortat is better than Lopez cuz he's not.

OK, my quick take:

Gortat is going to make a huge difference. He's a phenomenal rebounder when given minutes, solid defensively, and has some skill around the basket. He'll be starting over Lopez very quickly. Did anyone see Lopez failing twice in a row trying to post up Marion last night? Pathetic. Also remember, defense is primarily based on your bigs. Gortat / Lopez isn't all star quality, but it is MUCH better than Lopez and Hedo or Warrick. Gortat gives us a viable front court. That's a huge plus.

VC is a step down from JRich. Older, much worse 3 point shooter, and ambivalent at best about defense. Our staff never really liked him, read Gentry's quote about VC in :07 Seconds or Less. I don't think he'll be here too long unless we improve a lot. Which we might, courtesy of Gortat.

Pietrus is crap. Low IQ on offense, terrible ball handler, PER in the mid-8's. High on turnover, ridiculously low assist and FT rate. He'll be stuck behind our other SFs. Childress is much better. Pietrus could be moved as well.

Disappointed we didn't land Bass or Anderson instead of the first round pick or Pietrus. Either of them would have made the defenseless, no shooting range, no rebounding, poor FT shooting Warrick superfluous.

Ditching Hedo's awful contract was a master stroke. Surprised we pulled it off without getting completelty raped talent-wise.

All in all, it made the team better and improved our cap situation going forward. It landed us another superfluous overpaid SF, but we might be able to move him. Childress will get a few minutes, whioch isn't actually bad, since his net +/- was actually OK. I also think there's another move on the way for either Vince of Pietrus.

Suns Grade: B+

Magic Grade: C-

I just think we jumped the gun on this. JRich was actually a pretty valuable trade piece with his expiring as well as current contribution level. Hedo's contract is nice to shed sure, but I just think the FO gave up on their offseason moves REAL quick - which makes any "plan" they have look shady.

And with Pietrus' option (it is a PO), he's not necessarily gone next year so we have to start stacking him up with VC/Hill/Duds/Chill :o

Either Chill, Duds or Pietrus is gonna end up REALLY buried

Right, I think these two were traded for their salary relief for the Suns rather then for BB considerations.

Their offseason moves were horrible(as was pointed out at the time). Best to try to correct them as soon as possible. Frankly I'm surprised by how good a deal the Suns got, and as I said I'm not even a Gortat fan.

Yes. A complete train wreck when you consider what we had.

Nash should be kicking Sarver in the nuts right now.

I don't really dislike the trade that much. I actually like everything besides Carter and giving up JRich. But they really look like they have no plan at all.

Um...after the Hedo trade, getting back to where we were cap-wise is HUGE. What was the best we could have traded Jrich for at the deadline anyway?

Yeah but he was the only way of unloading Hedo. And who is to say JRich won't be back for whenever 2011 starts? Suns will have the cap then.
