Q,Pietrus,Duhon for Hedo

The only good thing about this trade for me is that I will have far more free time now...now that NBA basketball is dead to me. =)

I heard Gilbert Arenas was really appreciative that the #wizards sent him to the place where he really wanted to be. He's in great spirits.

Jameer is the starting point guard of this team guys. Arenas will play the two or come off the bench. Most likely the two. Turk will be coming off the bench, and he can shoot as much as he pleases. The only thing we need now is a back up center. And time to gel. That's it.

Something tells me Orlando will have to make a counter move for a grit type 4, I don't see Turk digging in against the thugs of east like KG, Haslem ( I know he's done) or Amar'e and Horford.

Do you guys anticipate anything else ?

Nice moves though, definitely give you more fire power.

I agree the Magic need a Brandon Bass-like player at the 4.

SVG has to assert his defensive philosophy to the new guys (well Hedo should know the drill though) in order for this to all work... the offense we're receiving is ridiculous, but the defense needs to be there

Defense was never our problem or at least wasn't....it just that we couldn't score....Boston last year proved that if you stay home on Dwight and run us off the 3pt line we can't score....we didn't have anyone that could create their own shot without the use of a screen or pick...now we do imo...We still have Dwight and with him alone we'll still be a top 10 defense cause he's just that good imo

Part of me believes there is still more player acquisitions coming, the Magic have enough guards to work Alcatraz now. We need some size, wouldn't be surprised at all to see Duhon and maybe Anderson dealt for some frontcourt depth. I personally love Jason Richardson being here, we need that aggressive scorer that Vince was supposed to be, he provides that. Worried about defense and rebounding though, Gortat did a lot just being out there, he'll be missed I think.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

It's not just this season. He's a career 42% shooter.

Yeah but you have to remember that he was also getting shooting tons of 3-pointers and free throws. His TS% and overall efficiency were both very good in his prime.

He's also never played with a decent big man. Gilbert can shoot from anywhere on the court, hell he probably has the most range in NBA history.

Jameer Nelson is not a good NBA player. Arenas, healthy, is an elite nba player.

I don't understand the disconnect.

You reduced Jameer Nelson's mins. to about 20 off the bench, particularly if he steal feels the need to gun and fire up terrible shots instead of getting the ball to the much better offensive threats.

You aren't in the a-10 any more, Toto.

Gil was born in Tampa. C'mon Gil, rep the hometeam like that old man was supposed to!

We got Earl Clark from the Suns which is a back up C, he's young and has a lot of upside. I'm not sure how he'd fair in games where Dwight gets in early foul trouble though and is required to play big minutes.

I'm not sure what to say to that, so here's Vince carter getting rejected by Brian Cook:

11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I agree that he will (or should, at least) perform better with Dwight demanding double and triple teams down low. Hopefully he can reign in those heat checks and actually attack the basket, which this team sorely lacks.

Hey magic fans, a laker fan here.

Two great moves IMO by the magic. HEdo isnt the player he used to be but he can still be effective at times and richardson, oh my goodness...Earlier this year the suns beat us at home and i caught a glimpse of how good this guy is this season.

Then flipping Lewis for Gilbert was excellent IF Arenas can keep his head straight, which i think he will now that he's under his friend otis smith and finally on a contender. Anyways congrats guys, hope you guys enjoy the moves!
