Post#1 » by bubba » Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:18 pm

Sources: Vince Carter dealt to Suns

The trade returns former Magic star Hedo Turkoglu, along with Jason Richardson and Earl Clark, to Orlando in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations.

and in related news....

Orlando, losers of five of its last six games, is also close to acquiring Arenas for Rashard Lewis, sources said.

i assume the magic have another trade going on? for a backup center? their pf/c was already thin and they trade both lewis and gortat? i have to give them props on lewis, i would've bet 1k he wouldnt get traded before his last year.

LOL earl clark is JK. IT would be Brandon Bass who plays PF on the top of my head. I don't really see how this trade improves them. They're thin at PF and C now. And Vince Carter=Jason Richardson, and Rashard Lewis> Hedo Turkoglu. At least we know now that they had regrets trading Turkoglu. Arenas idk, he hasn't shown his importance this year, but it doesn't hurt having a guy who can pass and shoot. Maybe they'll be a bit better, but PF looks real thin.

Too bad we didn't get Gortat, i'd be happy to ship them Lee and Budinger, and some picks for him. If only Magic missed Lee like they did Turkoglu

Jason Richardson is playing a lot better than Vince. I mean, Richardson and Nash are the only reasons why the Suns aren't in the lottery right now.

jahlil okafor has some of the best post moves in the last 30 years and the dude can't even get on the floor

I agree. Vince carter sucks. Plain and simple and the Magic know that. He's passive, plays hard a couple of plays a game and at this point of his career, injury prone. This move is a desperation move in response to the Miami big three. This is similar to the Phoenix-Shaq trade a couple of seasons ago, except this time, the Suns made off like bandits.

The magic upgraded at the guard positions and still have a beast in the middle. They've lost tons of depth though and I'm not sure how much salary they've saved. With Rondo and Perkins healthy, Boston is still the team to beat in the East.

Return to Houston Rockets
