What does that mean?
Means that Davis isn't in the trade and that maybe he wasn't in the top 11 but now is because of this trade.
I guess that'd represent a more legit confirmation of the deal eh?
Again, not analyzing deal that isn't done. Quoting GM buddy: "**** ain't real until it's real."

Yeah, not sure it's 100% that he would even want to come here. I wouldn't even try to get handle on what thoughts might be going through the mind of Zack Greinke.

If this Greinke to the Brewers rumor is true (and it looks like it is), it's great for the Braves. They can offer Greinke Lowe's $$ in 2013.
Again Bill Shanks is just some talk show host from Macon, Georgia.

Its hard to believe this, since Greinke fired his agent just a day or two ago. I so want to believe it though.

It's been almost 45 minutes since TH tweeted. I feel like if this wasn't true he would've been back with a denial pretty quickly.

Dude, what?

Greinke fired his agent because he wasn't getting him the f*ck outta KC. He now has a new representation that accomplished what he was paying his former agent to do...get him out of KC. As soon as he "demanded" the trade (after hiring the new agent) the asking price (which was the world) came down for KC. I can't see any team topping the Brewers offer...especially after KC made it known they were looking for middle infield as well as outfield help.

Seems awful fast for him to fire his, agent, get a new agent. the new agent to meet with his reps, and for them to work out a deal, and for Greinke to accept the trade to Milwaukee.
I amma gonna go to sleep. bye people, nice posting here for the first time in a few months.

This trade is great news. I hate losing Odorizzi, but it's not as if he was surrounded by enough talent in our system that he marked the beginning of a dominant wave of Brewers' prospects. By the time Odorizzi was up, we were likely to be at least a few other pieces short and having this same debate over trading away some of the following wave of prospects. Opportunities to put a true World Series contender on the field don't come often. I like going for it.

I don't believe they'd be a true contender post trade.

Care to elaborate? I'm not saying they would be a lock or anything but how would they not be a contender? Greinke/Gallrado/Wolf/Marcum/#5 is a damn solid rotation. The offense should be about the same as last year.

What?! We were contendors with Sabathia/Sheets/no one. Give me Greinke/Gallardo/Marcum/Wolf/________ over that playoff rotation ANYDAY. Sign Renteria as a stop gap at SS. Move Gamel to the outfield. Team's set.

Do you think we're in the NL East?

G'night folks!

Haudricourt Tom
My contact in KC was not able to confirm a deal has been made with Greinke, either, so don't know what else to say at this point.

Always nice to crown a winner in the offseason. Just like them 2003 Lakers. Who in the world could beat Payton/Kobe/Malone/Shaq? No one. Championshipppp.

Wow.

This is kind of bizarre. Either they are keeping a super tight lid on this until it's done or this is made up. See you guys in the morning!

Don't want to sidetrack this thread/rumor with a debate on something so trivial, but they weren't WS contenders with CC and Sheets. They made the playoffs on the last game of the year and won 1 game in the divisional. I think we have our definitions of WS contenders off. Central division, yes.
