Exactly. I still think we should keep him long-term as a spark off the bench. If he reaches his ceiling he could be one of the more dynamic bench players in the league.

Where do the minutes come from though? Flynn obviously isn't going to be able to play the 2 spot. So that means Rubio move over to the 2 (not a good thing) and that cuts into Johnson's and Webster's minutes (also not a good thing).

I guess I'm just not opposed to letting Rubio and Flynn split PG minutes. Rubio only plays 20-25 minutes a game in Europe, when he first comes over he probably won't be ready for much more than that. Flynn will probably never be a good enough defender for really big minutes, but I'm not against the idea of keeping both of them as a 1-2 punch. If Rubio proves capable of defending the 2 for limited minutes, they could probably play at the same time for 5 or 6 minutes a game, giving each of them close to 28 MPG or so without cutting into too many of Johnson's or Webster's minutes. I don't know, I might be crazy.

I have no problem with Flynn and Rubio sharing pg minutes for the first year, but I cant see that happening continuing for more than that year

What if we had traded Love for Randolph?

When the Rube comes to town, he will instantly improve team performance. Flynn, with any luck, will pick up his game (enough) to have fair trade value.

I don't know about that, are we to believe that Curry is a .436 3pt/.909 FT% shooter/olympic invite because of the GSW system? If so, please start running that system right now. Flynn looks mediocre.

I think that if Flynn were on GSW, they'd let him run pick-and-rolls s much as he'd like, and it'd certainly boost his FG%. Curry would still be a good shooter here, but I think he'd be a lot more restricted in his freedom. Maybe I'm overstating it a bit, but I think this "What if we had this other guy?" idea is difficult to compare apples-to-apples, especially with Jonny Flynn.

What if we had gambled and gave up a ton for Turner? I was on board to do that and now it's like whew!

I'd still love to get Turner ... and would love to get rid of Flynn in the process

Misleading cause of pace. Minnesota has 20th ORTG and 29th DRTG and this is with ranking 1st in ORB%. Wolves are 23rd in eFG, 28th in FT/FGA, and 25th in FT/FGA. So yes the Wolves need a lot of offensive help.

The offense is certainly not fine. The defense is a bigger trainwreck, but Minnesota ranks in the bottom third of the league in just about every meaningful offensive statistic, with the exception of offensive rebound rate. Assist ratio (30th), Turnover rate (28th), eFG% (23rd), TS% (23rd), and offensive efficiency (21st). The defense sucks (29th in defensive efficiency), but so does the offense. Curry would assuredly help with that. He's simply a better player than Flynn. Kahn made a mistake. Not the end of the world, but a mistake nonetheless.

Is Curry especially efficient?

Flynn can only dream of being as good as Jason Terry was/is. And it's a bad comp anyway. Curry is much more like Terry than Flynn style-wise.

that was more 2 names for comparison. Flynn isn't even Ben Gordon-esque. Its just Flynn is not a PG, he only plays one on NBA 2k.
