How, if we keep Amare, I doubt we get Hedo. But who knows.

Suns told Amare about the deal to get Hedo before he signed with the Knicks. Chances are the Suns would have been playing better though and wouldn't have felt the need to make this type of move though.

If we play on Christmas then i'd do that deal.

NY definitely have no use of Childress. Fields and Chandler are better than him and cheaper. Not to mention they are still aiming at cap space for FA.

overall I like the trade

hedo for Gortat= win/win

jrich for VC= magic win, but VC could be rejuvenated in our system, he never seemed to know his role in orlando. here it pretty simple, if you have the shot take it. Also, he now has our renowned training staff at his disposal. Besides both guys are expiring (PHX wont pick up VC's option) and VC SHOULD be cheaper if we were to resign him which I doubt at this point.

Pietrus for EC= lopsided win for us, unless Clark finally develops.

add in a 1st and some $$ and I think it was a pretty good deal.

Obviously, we still have too many wings so I would be surprised if this was our last trade this season. But i can honestly say that I think this is the most depth the suns have had at C in the 19 years or so that I've been a suns fan.

Exactly my assessment too. But in case Amare stayed, Suns, Magics, Raps and Wizs may have come to exactly the same terms even before the season started.

How do either of those trades make us better or help our situation with our wing players? Giving up a 1st for Randolph would be ok with me, if we had other deal(s) in place to do something else with our depth.

As far as your deals....#1 puts us -PF +PF +SG ------so in essence adds yet another wing and puts us at 6, Personally, I'd prefer Warrick to Randolph too.
deal #2.....-SG/SF - PF +SG/SF -------so in essence adds just a PF that we could've just got with a 1st. Let alone Childress being beter than Buke anyways.

I don't know why so many of you are bringing up pf's that don't fit our offensive scheme i.e. Z.Randolph and Brand who are suited for the half-court game or A.Randolph who after being traded for having a bad attitude and work ethic is riding the bench in NYC for the same reason. Think of our offense and what kind of bigman we need...someone who can decently execute the picknroll in a slashers mentality and the two most logical to fit that role are J.Thompson and J.Hickson both of whom are on the trade block and can be reasonably had.

people said Jefferson would be a bad fit and not to go after him with the amare trade, me being one of them... now the Jazz are laughing all the way to the playoffs. A dominant big pf. will fit in no matter what. Zack fits the bill for the playoffs. He would earn his pay against during the slow grind it out playoffs. Get Zack.... I dont care if you think his attitude stinks... he is HUGE... REBOUNDS..... POSTS UP AND SCORES..... CONTROLS THE LANE ON OFENSE AND DEFENSE!! You have to be able to play more than one way, this is why in the past we had great records in the regular season, and faltered in the post season. With Zack being an expiring it is a no brainer.... Vince+Warrick+orlando 1st for Zack Randolph, puts us into the picture in the West..... Cant you see that????

YESSSSS MANNNNNN!!!! He had a good game against them, and they have Arthur waiting in the wings, the young guy could be good. Warrick could be a good back up, they want to get someting for Randolph, and they have to decide who to throw money at.... Gasol or Randolph. He is a game changer... imagin a starting line up of Nash, Pietrus, Hill, Randolph, Gortat. Size, girth, scoring, pick and roll, shooting, slashing, then you bring in frye to play the Pf. and slide Zack to the 5 to dominate the paint while Frye, Pietrus, and Nash Bomb away, or the Nash BIG pick and roll, or post up by Zack either shoot or kick out to our shooters ( Nash, Duds, Pietrus, Frye, and even Hill) down the streach. Teams would again have to pick thier poison and hope the one they pick is off. You have to double Zack in the post.... A scrambling defense is a WEAK DEFENSE!!! You add Zack without getting rid of anything imprrtant, and we are a force to be reconed with in the west..... I really believe that!!!

Vince for Brand

You get a rebounding scoring PF, while clearing up some of the wing problems. Philly takes one more step to blowing everything up.

Philly is not doing this trade. Quit it with all the Brand dreams... he's playing up to what they thought he would last season, this year... he's not gonna be had for VC's expiring.

Having one good game against them doesn't mean they are going to trade back for him... The style of play is completely different in PHX, it utilizing his playing style a lot more than they can use him in MEM.

Still, no change that they want to get something for Randolph. Another Pf.+ another expiring for flexibility + and a first that we essentially got for free..... might get it done.

Quite happy with this trade. I like Pietrus' game, and we have added another big man in Gortat, who is a good rebounder and defender.

I see Vince Carter improving in the Suns system. I think our coaching staff can being him back to his very best. Also the Nash Effect has to be taken into consideration.

I am sad to see Earl Clark go, as I thought that we didnt need to include him in the trade, but am glad anyway.

Very sad to see J-Rich go, but at least we could use him for some great pieces.

Very excited about Gortat. He could be the best C we've had in years!!!!

Really hope Pietrus can get 100% healthy as he could rain the 3 ball like a freak.

I'm excited about going forward now. Something had to happen and we've made the move before it was too late. Kudos to the front office.

im so happy for hedo... it was really bothering me that bunch of scrubs gets more minutes than him and take every shot they get... phx was wasting hedo's talent using him as a PF..

As i think that nash is amazing player, something made me realize that how selfish sometimes he is.. i dont have to put up with he is holding to ball 19 seconds and then force something to happen late in games..

if phx had no PF and barely walking slow center its not hedos fault to defend something...

hope this trade work for both teams...

i want to say thank you phx fans,i enjoyed reading so many posts.. best of luck

I would've prefered to keep EC, and have Orland keep Pietrus. EC is able to play the 3, 4 and 5, and pietrus is just another wing we didnt need. EC has alot of potential aswell, while Pietrus has reached his ceiling.

I feel Orlando win this one, but only slightly.

Peitrus is a very good defender, better then J-Rich. Plus he is an expiring since I doubt he will pick up his final year to stay. He prefers Orlando and JRich prefers here which is why I expect both to wonder back to where they left.

Pietrus = Raja Bell v. 2.0, in terms of defense and ability to hit the three.
