It wouldn't surprise me to see Cruz starting and giving us more at the plate than Escobar did last year.

With the 1-5 we have in our lineup I can live with Betancourt at short. Still can't watch Gomez everyday though.

I'm assuming we'll bring Counsell back too?

Sounds like Betancourt could be bought out, with the Brewers and Royals both spending $2 mil to do so.

Don't forget we have 2 first round picks this upcoming year to help replenish the farm system too. Plus anything we get when Prince walks.

We gave up more for a half year rental on CC. We have him for at least two years. Try and hammer out an extension. If we do I like it even more. However, anytime you land an ace you have to be ecstatic.

From a Rosenthall article:

Odorizzi, 20, actually draws comparisons to Greinke, but some rival clubs project him as a reliever. The player to be named, one source said, is “a pretty good player,” but the Royals are checking his medical background before agreeing to take him in the deal.

Sounds like Rogers.

ETA: Forgot, can't be him.

Huh. I wonder who the PTBNL is.

BTW, is Jim Breen the GOAT? He and that Wagner character majorly scooped everyone on this thing.

Also, saw this mentioned on BF.net, I wonder if the Red Sox would be interested in sending Mike Cameron back our way? He's essentially riding the bench over there. We probably don't have the money for it but I would be happy to see him out there.

If Luis Cruz is the starter lets hope he keeps his racist claiming comments to himself. :D

lol Reds fans are jealous they couldn't get Greinke. Deep down they know the Brew Crew just leapfrogged them in the Central.

Heyman tweets that Greinke approved the Brewers and not the Nats because he believes Milwaukee is closer to serious contention. He's also apparently fond of the city.

On point!!! That is why giving up a little extra to get an ace like Greinke is worth it by all means! If we fall or dont think we have a chance we can reload with trading these guys back for prospects! And we all know, you get a SH*t ton back for pitching. Starting pitching like a # 1 has a nice return.

Or if they wal we get the hign picks back in return... I love the deal.

In all honesty, Milwaukee is just about a perfect place for him. I hope he realizes that and we can get an extension worked out.

I would like to see atleast 5 years total. Give him a little extra the 2 years under contract and 17-20 for the next 3.

I wonder how much it would take to lock him up? Probably too much.

I love the deal but Betencourt straight up blows. God awful defender. We'll need someone else at SS.

Available Shortstops : Cristian Guzman, Bobby Crosby, Nick Punto, Tyler Greene (Trade), Chris Woodward, Orlando Cabrera, Edgar Renteria

Nothing great, but I think a couple of those guys could be better options than Betencourt.

I'd sign Cabrera or Renteria. I'd also call up Boston about Cameron and maybe Scutaro.
