I viewed him as a RP for us and I thought he could be a good 8th inning guy for us, I'm fine giving him up in this deal but I would've enjoyed seeing him reach back for triple digits on our team. Obv for Greinke, I would push him out the door.

Saw a quote from Corey Hart saying something similar. You have to think all the players are thrilled with this. Melvin really backed up his talk this time around.

I hope this motivates Braun this year. He proved last year that he's much better when he cares.

Props to Doug Melvin for this move. Cannot believe we got Greinke for what we gave up.

**** me.

Melvin said Yuniesky Betancourt, who came with Greinke in the trade, will be the starting shortstop and likes his offense and says his defense is underrated.

"I think he's an exciting player who is still young," said Melvin. "He led their club in RBI. I think he will do OK in the field."

If we're going for it, lets patch up the holes we got at CF and SS. Gomez/Dickerson and Betancourt is gunna suck.

Milwaukee also was on Greinke's no-trade list but he recently switched agents to the CAA group and the Brewers have a good relatinship with them, including outfielders Ryan Braun and Corey Hart. Greinke agreed to drop the no-trade and the deal was done.

The bottom of our lineup is terrible. Lucroy/Gomez/Betancourt/P.

Yunieskey isn't that bad.

Best day for the Brewers since 2008 and people still find something to bitch about.

He has roughly the same OBP as Gomez and he's not a good fielder. He's bad.

A squirrel with no legs could play better defensively at SS than Betancourt.

Betancourt in 2,890 career at bats has amassed 2.5 WAR. He has a -8.3 career UZR/150. He has a career 3.4 BB%, a career .296 OBP and a career .297 wOBA. He's awful.

Huge to have Greinke with an agency that we have successfully negotiated contact extenstions with.

I don't think it can ever be too early to start talking extension with Greinke.

Underrated? Are you serious?

Barf. If they're in love with Betancourt (seriously, WTF), here's hoping we find something great for CF.

Even if it only amounts to 2 years of Grienke, I love this move. We gave up solid, but not elite prospects for a young, stud pitcher. We gave up a ton in regards to our farm system, but objectively, we got amazing value.

I hate the idea of Betancourt starting, though. With the rotation that we've assembled, I loathe the idea of putting such a piss-poor defense behind them. I'd love to grab Cameron and/or Renteria; both should be had for relatively little.
