What Are Your Rest Of Season Predictions?

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Sun Dec 19, 2010 5:28 pm

We are now at 6-19 I think, & 4 games out of the final playoffs spot but this upcoming game will be the 1st time all year we have everyone. Unless Flip is an idiot, I see us now starting Wall-NY-Lewis-Dray-McGee. Ofcourse things could soon change with Howard getting healthy and Flip seemingly wanting to bench McGee. I honestly wouldnt be shocked if Flip says forget it and just turns us into the Knicks or the old Suns teams and starts Wall-NY-Howard-Lewis-Dray, and says lets just run all game.

No matter what we do, does anyone see us making the playoffs? What do you predict our record to be? I said the last few games that if Gil was going to play like that & coast then we wont beat anyone. It hurts us more then helps. I think he was doing that because he knew he was out and he will really turn it up in Orlando but I also think it helps us and gives us a normal sized roster. Dray probably gets more post touches, we get some real wing guys with height to play beside Wall, and we have all atheletes who can run with Wall.

We looked solid last night without Wall & Shard. Im in the minority in thinking that Shard will look alot better then he did in Orlando. He wont be the guy on the Sonics but he will be very solid and people will be happy with him. If fully healthy, can we make a run or do you guys just think we will suck? I think Flip was weak and never held Gil accountable in terms of playing D & playing hard. I think last night you could see that these guys will play hard, play defense, and Flip can hold them somewhat accountable. Everyone is Also in there normal roles and should be no more small ball or lineup mismatches. The East sucks so I think we could still make it. What say you? Give me our record for the final 57 games and tell me if we make the playoffs

Hopefully bad enough to get another good draft pick. This team will not be able to add a big name FA for a long time after the Gilber fiasco.

No NBA player will want to play for a franchise that didn't have the spine to back its superstar, or at the very least, be around the GM who was solely responsible for the PR disaster. Ted talks about culture change, but it won't be complete until Ernest Grunfeld is fired.

When Wall gets back, Yi out for the foreseeable future, and with Shart at least serviceable. We should win a few games. Not enough to get us in the playoffs, but enough to totally cluster*uck our lotto balls.

+1 We may drop down into the 5-10 picking-range.

You guys are really kidding yourselves if you think this team is NOW going to compete for anything other than the worst record in the league. Explain to me how getting Josh Howard back, Trading Arenas for Shart, and John Wall being proclaimed "out for a while" is going to improve the team's record?

Yeah right. We'll have plenty lotto balls this year, that's for sure.

6 out of 7 people voted that we would not make the playoffs, not sure what you are referring to. If Wall can come back, we'll be bad, but not as bad as having Kirk run the team.

I'm simply referring to the idea that we will end up worse off in lottery standings because of what has recently transpired, I do not feel that to be the case.

Fighting a lot of imagined enemies these days champ.

On the subject, it's not like we are far and away the #30 team in the league right now. We're in a pack of about 6-7 bad teams and I expect it to stay that way. I doubt Contract will make a difference at all, and any jump in win totals will be due to positive development from our youth, in other words the kind of anti-tanking that's easy to live with.

I voted "maybe". I think that the presence of Howard will make Lewis mostly a PF for us, meaning Yi could become irrelevant for the rest of the season. There will also be nobody to take Young's minutes at SG while Wall is out. I wouldn't be surprised if they went on a little run to close out December and begin January because the rotations will be pretty much handed to Flip by injuries. If he uses Hinrich as a 6th man once Wall comes back, it could continue.

That said, IMO they'd have to go 32-25 the rest of the way to even have a chance and that's certainly not likely.

As long as people are more concerned with dismissing everything I post than actually crafting a response, I will always be "fighting" imagined enemies won't I?

No, we don't make the playoffs. We're one of the worst half dozen or so teams in the league now, and we'll be one of the worst half dozen or so teams in the league at the end of the season. Where we rank among that group is mostly going to come down to Wall's health. I don't think losing Arenas or adding Lewis has much effect on this.

25 wins and a top 5 draft pick--book it. I'm good with that, as long as we can get our players healthy.

As pathetic as we've been, right now we're only 4 games out of the top 8. Good God the east is weak.

I have mixed emotions, I did some heavy drinking last night......and have a ton of thoughts on this.

If we can really play like we did last night, we may be able to make the playoffs, yes the east is that bad. I'm one of Gils biggest supporters and that's why I was drinking so heavy last night. With that said, I know he didnt want to be here anymore and because of that he wasnt playing that well. I love gil and I'm not mad at him, but the wiz will probably be better this year now. He was shooting bad and had the body language of someone who is out there just going through the motions. More pt for Young and Howard is better than what we were getting from Gil, I honestly believe that. I'll root for GIL and ORL, but the wiz will probably be better off for now. If we had the GIl that I think we will see in ORL than its a different story, but we werent going to get that...........ever again!

My prediction is that Booker will wind up chained to the bench while Rashard plays 30+ minutes per game.

I predict that I'm once again going to be glad for not ordering NBA League Pass. What a sewer this team is.
