[Camelo Thread] - Update: He's Pushing for NYK! Part 5

Yeah hence why I removed my Heat sig. I realized that if the big three left tomorrow I would have no loyalty to the Heat. I also realized I feel more into the games when I watch the Knicks compared to the Heat. I still don't hate Wade/Bron/Bosh like most Knicks fans(hopefully that will change). But I am not supporting them anymore.

Someone needs to make a KnicksNation citizenship test for you.

I would probably fail since I literally just started supporting them after the Celtics games. Fully started after the Heat game though. I was sitting on the couch watching the Knicks vs Heat game trying to decide who to support and every time the Knicks score I got more excited than the Heat. Even as the Knicks were getting blown out I decided that this was the team I wanted to support because i just feel it more. I don't even post on the Heat board anymore.

18 but I only started watching basketball a year ago. Went from the Cavs to Heat. Now I just want to be a fan of the home team.

Went from following LeBron to the Knicks. Still feels weird to me rooting for a team that has no chance at the title. I have never been a sports guy so I always just picked a favorite player. Shaq/LeBron. So I never really watched sports I just knew who my favorite player was. Now that I am watching a lot more I like being able to watch every Knick game on my TV instead of watching Heat games on a crappy stream online. Regardless of how long it takes eventually you guys will accept me as a fan because I'll take the hate and keep posting my opinions while being respectful and understanding that you guys are smarter than me. Eventually you wont hate me.

my line up would be:

sf Melo
pf Gallo
c Stat

and have wilson come of the bench backing up three positions, the sg sf and pf.

As long as you stay a Knick fan, it's all good IMO.

Everyone becomes a fan due to different reasons, and most of the time it's because of a winning season and what-not. For example, I became a Jet fan in 2002 when Pennington lead the Jets to that miraculous comeback from 2-5 to 9-7. But I will always be a Jet fan.

I also became a Knick fan in 2002 when they traded for McDyess. He was a very exciting player and I couldn't wait to see him play. Turns out he got injured and would be out for months, and would never be the same again. But I've always been a Knick fan since then.

Actually, I'd like to hear how everyone else became a fan.

I became in a knick fan in 99 when allan houston made the buzzer beater against the heat in game 5 of the 99 playoffs. they were really the perfect underdog story. that team had a lot of passion and heart and really wanted to win. and i have been a fan ever since and im gonna be a knick fan for the rest of my life.

first of all no need to over pay, I can one young players +expiring and draft picks but to give up fields/+Chandler+randolph+ picks little to much drop the picks and I think about it. You just gave two legit young players n this league+ the promise of more when he could be signed in the off season for nothing. That is why Donnie is the GM the longer he waits the better the price.

But how do we know he would only sign with us?

So far all we have heard are "sources" saying he only wants to come here. The same sourceswhosaid LeBron was going to be a Bull and then a Knick. Or what about Cliff Lee? Everyone said the Yankees during the season. My point is nothing is definite. Melo wants his money too.

What does money have to do with anything? If he goes into FA, he will get his money no matter what. No team can offer more than us, outside of Denver.

Any reduction in salary, Max contracts, or any other give back will ABSOLUTELY be across the board by whatever agreed percentage.

There isn't even a sliver of a chance that today's Max players will be making millions more than next summer's Max players because the new CBA cuts only future contracts. WON'T happen. It isn't even legal to attempt to do it that way.

The reporters who are claiming that Melo is risking a huge amount of money by going to free agency are flat wrong. He would only be risking the difference between what Denver can pay him(the extension) and a Max deal at today's CBA numbers.

Both numbers would be reduced by any salary roll back.

Really the only way i would do a trade with the nets is if they threw in devin harris into the mix. And theres no way you guys are getting aron afflalo.In case you forget carmelo is a superstar, and the way hes played this year is no indication as to what he can really do. Ive seen melo play at full effort and what hes done this year is negligible to other years. hes been goin easy and has not been trying. I can't think of a better reason to lower the value of assets I'm willing to give up for him.

I think this is fair. I don't know how people can look at a 17 ppg guy like Wil, a 15 ppg guy like Gallo and an all-around eye opener like Fields and say that we don't have "pieces". I wish your fan base would see it as fair as you do. We aren't trying to fleece anyone. Did I mention all these guys are 23 or younger?
I mean if it's spite then let it be known...but if it's based on talent and manageable salaries then I think we are a good match for a trade considering that Melo wants to be here.

thats another reason i see this as a good trade. both gallinari and fields are young so if we have to rebuild, we have two good pieces already.also i dont really watch knick games but who is better gallinari or chandler. and can gallinari play the power forward position.
