LOL, why does Melo care who we trade for him? The more talent he has to play with when he gets here, the better.

If Melo is against crappy teams, is that why he is bouncing on Denver?

no hes leaving denver for the same reason lebron left cleveland. doesn't see them winning a championship. but its not like it will be any different in new york. Theyll make the playoffs one year then its gonna take them another 20 years to get back.

Well you could try to be intelligent, but anyone outside of the North-East and West Coast don't know what that is.

Denver with Melo right now has a 16-10. The Knicks without Melo have a record of 16-12 and are only a game and a half back of the 3rd best record in the East. How is that possible if we are such a crappy team? If Denver is so much better than us why doesn't it reflect it in the record? Oh it is probably because your front-office sucks and gives out contracts like candy to injury-prone big men. I'm pretty sure with Melo we are a contender.

Enjoy Tim Tebow. Denver Nuggets are heading back to complete irrelevance. I find it hilarious when fans of a franchise that hasn't even been to the NBA Finals talks trash about the Knicks. You're a little under 7 months away from being back to where all Denver sports teams usually reside. Irrelevancy.

why

Because they think they are getting Chandler/Gallo/Fields and picks out of us. They also think the Nets deal will happen.

Was there a scenario where would sign the extension to play for the Nets? he was asked.

"Wherever I go, I'm going to sign the extension," he replied.

But then he was asked, "If they come to you and say, 'We have a deal to send you to the Nets,' would you sign?"

"I don't know," Anthony said. "I don't know. I'd have to deal with that when it comes."

Translation: "Im' leaving Denver", "Helll Nooo I'm not going to the Nets."

The one thing that is important from that article is that it's the second time that he is said he is going to sign an extension. In other words, the option of getting him in free agenc is now out the window. So, the question is, if the Nuggets come to him in February and say, either we trade you to the Nets or we don't trade you, what would he do?

This whole back and forth with Denver and Carmelo has to sound like that drunk guy always asking the same question over and over again.

Denver: Hey Melo, we got this deal with the Nets ready. Will you extend?
Melo: Nah, I don't think it's the right fit for me.
Denver: That's cool Melo, we can find another deal.
...The Next Day...
Denver: Yo Melo, my man, we got this kick ass deal with that team in New Jersey. They want to know if you will extend.
Melo: Look, I appreciate them trying but it isn't where I want to be.
Denver: Yeah, no problems.
...The Next Day...
Denver: Melo, buddy, we got this deal with this team that really wants you. They've been trying to get you from the beginning.
Melo: New York?
Denver: Close, just a tiny river in between. Fun fact, there was a miracle there.
Melo: Look guys, I'm not going to sign with New Jersey.
...The Next Day...
Denver: Hey Carmelo, you mellow? We got exactly what you wanted.
Melo: You guys got me New York?
Denver: Oh yeah Melo. You are going to be playing for the New Yorkers :cough:in2years:cough:

Above was what I believe to be an accurate retelling of the conversations between Ujiri and Carmelo. -Jitpal

this guy is begging to be dealt for, come on donnie, get a deal done

gallo/fields/curry

all i will say is it'll be a shame if he relents and accepts a trade somewhere else after giving ny a legit chance to get him (something lebron never did)

Well to be fair, we actually don't know what we've offered. THis Gallo, Fields deal is simply Sheridan's opinion, we don't know if we already offered that and they want Chandler too. It's too early for us to give our final offer, our final offer has to come either at the deadline when they are feeling pressure or if melo starts giving notice that he will accept a new jersey trade and the pressure is on us.

It's best for all parties for there to be a trade. Denver doesn't lose him for nothing. Melo has contract security. The receiving team, hopefully the Knicks, isn't held hostage all year and has a chance to compete a year earlier.

The truth is, you wouldn't just need to worry about the Nets come deadline time. You're telling me if Melo wants the extension and Dallas is willing to trade for him that they won't make that happen? Melo would extend with Dallas, he would have Dirk next to him for the next 5 years. Aging but still good. What if some dumb team is willing to swap Deng for an expiring deal and then Chicago can flip that in a 3 way with Denver. Melo would extend. The closer we get to the deadline the worse it becomes for the Knicks in my opinion. The Knicks could win more games with him now than with our current cast until February and it gives Felton/Melo/Amar'e more time to develop chemistry for the playoffs. -Jitpal
