I was at that game. Gilbert almost won it for them too.

I've always been a closet Gilbert fan so i got to admit i'm really excited that he is on our team and i hope that he and Dwight can work well together to take us to that next level.....But here is another good Gilbert Battle....I almost forgot how exciting he was around that time

That washington team would`ve been contenders if they switched A.JAMISON with D.NOWITZKI

lol damn Rashard doesnt look happy and I dont know if this was posted yet i dont feel like checkin thru all these pages but heres what Ray Allen said about the Rashard trade

"I just heard about it this morning when I came in," Allen said at Celtics practice on Saturday. "It's shocking to me. They just signed him to a big contract a couple years ago. They've been in the Eastern Conference finals and the Finals over the last couple of years, so it's not like they've been playing poorly."

"That seems a little unfair," Allen said. "A lot of their guys have been sick, so that threw their rhythm off a little bit."

Get the F out Ray, no chance we win anyways with those guys.

I`ll miss Rashard, but what we did was needed.

-shard has declined statistically every year since we signed him. his head is somewhere else. way too inconsistent and has no killer instinct.
-arenas was a high octane scorer before his injury, he might not have quick leaping abilities anymore but we finally have someone that can create off the dribble, find open teammates, AND stroke the 3. his shooting %s have been dismal so far this season but that should improve as the season progresses.

The Magic take on more longterm money and give up more short-term money but imo improve both short-term and longterm. Bass or Anderson have solidified the starting 4 spot for years to come, which means Lewis was looking at a longterm move to the 3. He has struggled. Frankly, Hedo is much better than Lewis as the 3 for our team. Lewis could not move with the ball and is really just a sharp shooter/post player, whereas Hedo brings the shooting but with greater versatility. Gortat was not going to see much floor time barring a Dwight injury whereas Arenas will get starter minutes. Both Hedo and Arenas will contribute much more to our longterm prospects than Gortat or Lewis would have, imo.

Then you look at J-Rich, whom is younger and frankly better than Carter. I'm sure Otis will try and find a way to re-up him, giving us potentially another longterm core piece to this team, and a better option than we had pre-trade; frankly neither Pietrus or Carter had a longterm role to play on the Magic, so getting a guy like Richardson who could have a longterm role is a nice boost. Earl Clark is that swing-forward player that I like, and I remember being high on him coming out of collage too, so even though it probably isn't longterm and won't have much short-term impact just the chance of it working out is good enough for me.

All-in-all this is a great set of trades. Otis blows up the team but does so by bringing in people that he knows and that know the Magic, and thereby have much less of a chance to screw up what the Magic do.

Well said...

Of-course everyone is entitled to there own opinion but personally i don't see how someone can be mad @ these moves, They're moves that had 2 be done and right now was the best time to do them... Rashard was a good dude and i like him a player/person but ever sense the P.E.D.s incident he has never been the same, Last year we (Me included) Used the excuse that he was " Suspended the first 10 games and never got his rhythm back " But come on, There's no excuse this year he has just declined and been relegated to a 20 million dollar spot up 3 point specialist who wasn't even knocking those down.

And Vince, He just couldn't handle the pressure of carrying the team on his back and then taking the blame from all sides when we lost. Now I'm Sure that Hedo is gonna make some stupid plays (He Always Does) but at-least when he was the guy we were all dumping on he looked like mentally he could handle it.

Dwight obviously was cool with the moves, Otis liked em, i like em and We'll all see whats up tomorrow so GO MAGIC

I have seen JJ pissed and that certainly was not him pissed. He seemed happy that Hedo was going to be back with the Magic and thought that Hedo would do much better as well being back with a system that he knows and works well with.

Look at this vid, amazing how he's working out while other people are doin god knows what :D .. Also includes some game-winners

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOGNWTvLvgE[/youtube]

Here's one of the game winners, look at him in the replay, the ball just left his fingers and he turns around and throws his hands in the air to the crowd .. That's shooting with confidence :D

Who needs Melo if we can get that Gilbert back

Not even Rashard can stop him here:

LeBron talks about our moves after his game against Washington:
“I’ve thought that it was surprising when Turk (Hedo Turkoglu) wasn’t brought back the year after they beat us [Cleveland Cavaliers]. I just thought what Turk created for their team, that point-four created everything. He always created a mismatch and that was part of the reason why they beat us. There were times I would switch off onto Turk and they would go to Rashard (Lewis). Sometimes I would go on Rashard and they would go to Turk. We were too small on the perimeter during those years … I know they’re happy to have him back. It’s gonna be different, it’s going to be a different transition because I know when you break up a team and bring guys in it takes a while. We’ll see what happens.”

“They’re a much different team. It’s going to be a much different team when we see them the next time . Especially for me, having gone through a playoff series with them, going through regular season games with them will be different. But, I guess they felt they needed a change.”

“I don’t know. It’s still early. I’d love to sees them play first before I make an assessment on their team. I never like to judge a book by it’s cover first.”

“It’s going to take time [for Orlando to find its form] — any time you add new guys. They added a lot, so it’s going to take time for them to come together. They’ll be able to do it, but it will take some time. It won’t be easy early.”

about Gilbert:
“Just a few years back, he was an MVP candidate. Injuries and off-the-court issues have plagued his career the last few years. Do we know if he’s going to get back to an MVP-type feel? We don’t, but he’s a great player and we had some great battles, definitely. Me in a Cavs uniform and him in a Wizards uniform. [Laughs] All those moments we had against The Wizards in those playoff series — Classic.”

According to Bianci, Otis had to talk to the Devos "for hours" to get then to agree to the Arenas trade

a guy that has pulled guns in the locker room
and could be the next Grant Hill type inury situation
and 3 years 60+ mil left after the season

I wonder how that conversation went.

Devos: We need shooters
Otis: I've got just the guy
Devos: Who? Not T-mac right?
Otis: No..better...this guy shoots the lights out.
Devos: ...
Otis: Lets trade Rashard Lewrich for .....GILBERT ARENAS. There is a reason they call him Agent 0.
Devos: why?
Otis: He is a gunner
Devos: Lolz..ok

shard needed turk to be effective. they were both 6'10 and turk could easily find him on the perimeter for those open 3s.

but shard knew he was overpayed. i don't really feel sorry for him. if he wanted to stay here he would've taken less money and played with a lil more heart.
