Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
No he wont, Brady has it locked up. Infurior supporting cast, about to break Kosars passes without a pick record, has set the record for what like 7 or 8 straight weeks with atleast 2 TD's and no INT's. Vick assuming plays the rest of the year, he will have missed exactly a quarter of the season. In the 3 games he didnt start, the Eagles are 2-1, including beating Atlanta.
I really think strength of schedule should be considered.
Number of Top 15 pass defenses played:
Tom Brady - 10
Michael Vick - 5
Top 20 pass defenses played:
Tom Brady - 13
Michael Vick - 6
Pass defenses played ranked 25th or worse:
Tom Brady - 0
Michael Vick - 5
Thats just the pass numbers, to show what kind of Pass defenses Brady has went up against. It makes what he is doing this year historical. The Patriots schedule has been absolutly brutal. One of the toughest I have seen in recent memory.

They should just give it to Vick for the hell of it, hes the best story in the NFL and has put up great numbers and he has made Philly what they are this year, without Vick philly would be nothing this year. Screw Brady.

But why are you only looking at Pass D? are you not taking away one of Vick's main weapons? Should you not be looking at overall D?
Btw, I think Brady will win MVP. but I have a sneaky feeling Vick will win OPOY (which never makes sense to me when they separate it)

I think it makes sense. Without Brady the Pats are missing the playoffs. Without Vick the Eagles are a good team contending for the playoffs - just not the amazing and dynamic team they are currently. Brady is more valueable to the pats. Vick is the biggest offensive weapon in the league.

Yeah, **** that guy. Hrumph.

Brady better win. Vick has one MVP type performance against a team fighting for the playoffs, and we forget about Brady having three of those?
I was more worried about Rivers making a push, with that whole December is always great, and Vincent Jackson coming back, yada yada yada. But after that loss to Oakland a few weeks back, I'm certain he will be behind Vick in voting.

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
according to AP voters, vick is more impressive. not by the numbers, but he truly is doing it and making it happen. in bradys system of offense, you can plug in any receiver, and because brady knows the system like the back of his hand, it'll work. he knows the gaps. he has the experience in that system. he does have excellent ball placement. but most of his passes are short passes. many passes are to scat back type players coming out of the backfield or lined up in the slot for a 7 yard pass, with the receivers making the yards after the catch.
while vick is brand new to this eagles system of offense. and he is having to revert to "atlanta" vick running the ball and making it happen with his feet. not to mention his accuracy is still very very good.
the stats wont be there for vick, but he doesnt do alot of dink and dunk like in bradys system of play. with vick when it breaks down, has to improvise and truly has to BECOME MVP-LIKE for his team to win the game. vick has to literally take over and make it happen. apply pressure to brady and hes done, while the offensive line for philly is not that good compared to bradys offensive line. bradys line is MVP. vicks line is stand in front of your guy as long as you can and hope VICK can do the rest.

Brady might have better stats, but I don't think there's a more important and/or valuable piece to their team then Vick.

Peyton Manning begs to differ. Same with Brady. You honestly think these teams are playoff teams without Brady and Manning? Go look at their rosters ffs, and compare it to vicks.
Lakeshow-what AP voters are you talking about? No one has voted yet, and most articles and other pundits point to Brady being MVP anyway.
Edit: Actually, fans are voting more towards vick, if that's what you meant?

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
I usually stay away from these types of debates. But when I read things like "Screw Brady" "System QB" and how he is not valuable to the patriots and you can implant any QB in there and the patriots would still have the same record, then I just get pissed. You guys are acting like it's early 2003 again.
I also don't want it to sound like I'm trashing on Vick, the guy clearly is a dangerous weapon, I wouldn't want to face him in the playoffs.

I'm not saying screw Brady or arguing that he isn't a top choice for MVP, I just don't think there's a more valuable player in the game then Vick. The team just looks completely different when Vick and Kolb are in the game.
In the first game of the year against the Packers Kolb started and got injured during the first half, the Eagles only put up 3 points. Vick plays in for the 2nd half and the Eagles score 17 points...The Eagles lose this game.
In the 4th game of the year Kolb returns from his concussion. They put up 12 points against the Redskins (who give up 25 points/game). They lose the game 17-12.
Eagles win the 5th week under Kolb against the 0-5 Niners, and beat the Falcons the following week. In week 7 the Eagles put up 19 points in a loss to the Titans. They make a change at QB during the bye week and Vick becomes the full-time starting QB, they go on to win 6 of the next 7 games and average 34 ppg during that span. As opposed to the 2-3 record and 22 ppg under Kolb as a starting QB.

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
It has to be Brady, mainly because if you look at NE and Philly on paper, it's more impressive what Brady has done IMO and is the definition of MVP. I do agree on giving Vick OPOY though.

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
Vick has so many weapons, DJack, Maclin, McCoy. Brady has taken rookies and practice squad players and made them look like Pro Bowlers. Danny freaking Woodhead. Period. He also lost arguably the best deep threat receiver of the past decade in Week 4. Deion Branch is a nobody unless he has Brady tossing him the ball. Not even a debate, imo.
Everyone likes to look at Patriots 2008 season when they went 11-5 without Brady. "Oh well it's just a system, Brady's a product of a system" Seriously? How old is this? I thought 2003 and 2004 laid that to rest. Here's the myth on that year debunked:
1. They didn't make the playoffs
2. One of the easiest schedules in the league. I posted it below. It's a joke.
3. They beat NOBODY that was any good. NOBODY.
4. Cassell is a pretty decent QB. He's leading the Chiefs who have a great offense to a potential playoff berth.

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
look at what USCs "MATT CASSELL" did in that offensive system without brady.
they were very successful.
while michael vick is brand new, taking on a brand new eagles system of offense, has been in jail and hasnt played ANY FOOTBALL, and is doing it all when his offensive line and offensive system breaks down.
truly, VICK is doing more valuable things for his team.

First, read my above post. You're wrong.
Second, to rebut the part of your post I put in bold. Vick got 2 free years to build his body up in prison without throwing around his body and risking injury in the NFL. If anything, he got better.

There's a clear difference between staying in shape at a prison and staying in "NFL" shape ready to contribute at an MVP level. Spending 2 years in prison did not help him as a football player, and you'd be crazy to think otherwise.

Re: MICHAEL VICK FOR MVP!
The biggest reason why Vick won't win is because he missed too much time. Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers have all been a part of every win for their teams and both Ryan and Brady's teams have a couple more of those. Brady doesn't have anything close to the suporting cast that Vick does either, plus he's white and beautiful and plays in New England. I would argue MJD deserves some love if the Jaguars make the playoffs too, but he won't and they won't.
