Double post:

I love the fact we got (2) TPE's:

Gortat ($6.3M)
Lewis ($1.8M)

We may not use 'em but we got 'em.

I don't think anyone's gonna think about where he heard the news when he's winning us basketball games .. I really think this guy needed something like this, a new opportunity, a fresh start .. He's shown he can still play like his old self

A backup for Dwight, and we're right up there again with LAL, BOS, MIA, SAS & DAL ..

Arenas arrived at Amway Center just after halftime of the Magic’s 97-89 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. After meeting with Magic President of Basketball Operations/GM Otis Smith, a man who Arenas considers a mentor and a close confidant, the point guard went ahead with a workout on Orlando’s practice court.

I think that's a good sign imo.

They were talking about that (Gilbert at the Amway Practice Facility) during the end of the game, how Gilbert is still a gym rat, etc.

Anyway:
After drinking a few and since time has passed I'm really getting excited about the team/ tonite's game.

I can't wait. (Tryna talk my brother into letting me get his tickets but he ain't comin' up off of them) so I guess I'll be at the Winghouse watchin' booty and basketball.

The gym rat part of the story is nice, but what I liked is that he was eager to come over that he just up and left. Doesn't really instill confidence that he makes well thought out decisions, but still very good that he really wants to come here.

he made some boneheaded decisions in Washington for sure, but he is the last person there from the old regime and team and he is being made a scapegoat for the past failures. I think he is extremely happy for a new chance in a new place.

I truly believe he's eager because he knows he's got a really great "shot" at being the starting PG.

SVG & some RealGM'ers/ fans can huff and puff how Jameer will be the starting PG but Otis Smith didn't bring his guy here to sit the bench and be a super high priced super sub, I can tell you that right now.

All Gil has gotta do is show he can actually run an offense/ get the ball Dwight everytime he's open and he'll be starting.

With all due respect, Gil didn't "pull" guns in the locker room. He had unloaded weapons placed on a bench.

I'll admit that it was a stupid thing to do but when you say that he "pulled guns in the locker room" that sounds like he actually aimed them at someone.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

seeing as jameer isn't leaving and still starting and arenas is gonna play the 2 whether starting or off the bench, i believe jrich is gonna be traded again at the deadline. hopefully for gerald wallace. PLEASE let us get gerald wallace. we desperately need defense on the perimeter. also some back up for dwight.

You`re acting like Charlotte will do that deal.

Arenas is the backup 1 guard and also backup 2.

they can work some 3 or 4 team deal out seeing as they wanna get rid of both capt'n jack and gerald. wish otis didn't give our 2011 1st round draft pick away. that was uneccessary.

also no defensive perimeter player = dwight in foul trouble which = no championship. someone has to take pressure off of him. its also needed for him to be more effective on offense. can't have all his energy on the defense end.

I think that 1st RD Pick we "gave away" is why we got that $6.3M TPE for Gortat so it really was neccessary...if we use it.

In the long run:
$6.3M TPE is much more valuable than a very very (likely) late 1st RD Pick.

only if it is used. Hopefully Otis can find someone that he can grab with it.

How long before we can declare this experiment a failure? 1 quarter?

Gettting a TPE has nothing to do with including a first rounder or or. It's strictly based on salaries. Also how one team configures a trade has nothing to with how the other team configures a trade. In other words the Suns had no say in whether the Magic got a TPE or not.

Maybe we could get a guy like Thabeet from Memphis w/ that TPE (+ Orton) cause they're looking to shed salary in the worst way in order to keep Gasol. This way don't have to trade Mayo in order to do it, they could keep both.

I should put this out there on the T&T to see what Memphis fan says.
