I see Defensive Efficiency on Hoopdata, but Drtg on BR. Which is better?

They are both measuring the same thing: Pts Allowed or Scored per Poss. The only difference is in how they measure possessions.

B-R uses ratios to measure things like the number of possessions related to FTA (using a 0.44 or 0.4 ratio). Hoopdata uses actual game charting to identify "and one" situations, where the possession value is 0.

In theory, hoopdata is more accurate (so long as their charting is accurate). That said, you can use the more traditional/short cut B-R methods to compare across years while hoop data doesn't have the tracking history available to do this.
