So is it pretty much decided that Patrick Kane will go #1 overall? Our board needs help.

He's not a complete lock to go #1, but he certainly is the favorite at this point.

I really don't know how to judge Nikky yet. He hasn't played a full season yet, and despite injuries last year, had a career season.

If Ellis is similar in that way...cool.

Let's just hope this kid can skate :)

Sorry, I misspelled it, it's Lars Eller, and according to the Star, he's the third best overseas. But I still have a bad feeling. According to the TSN Mock Draft #13 = Mikael Backlund, and Angelo Esposito going to the Habs. Damn! I want Esposito, but I doubt he'll drop that far. Backlund = "Dreger Says:
The Leafs will show interest in moving up, but don't have a lot to offer in a trade. The Toronto scouts may want Kevin Shattenkirk, but I think GM John Ferguson Jr. is going to play the veto card and add depth up front with Backlund. He's a bit of a gamble because of a bad knee, but he's got moxie."

Lars Eller is then going to the Oilers
"Cuthbert Says:
The Oilers are weeping. They dodged a bullet with Toronto passing on him, but then Duthie scooped up Shattenkirk. The Oilers, who may deal this pick, will instead look for a skilled forward. The pick is Lars Eller - the Danish Forsberg."

Ill be fairly dissapointed with either Eller or Shattenkirk.

I think its going to be one of Backlund, Hamill, Eller or Ellerby if he falls.

Assuming we'll be keeping the #13 pick...

I'd be HAPPY with:

-Couture
-Hamill
-Esposito

I'd be NEUTRAL with:

-Eller
-Shattenkirk
-Backlund

And I'd be very disappointed with anyone else.

We aren't going to get Esposito, I don't believe we'eve even scheduled a work out with him. On Tsn they said that he did 3 workouts with Canes and the Habs, So even if the canes skip him, hes going to the habs.

I dont understand why we haven't gotten back into this draft. You cant tell me we couldn't have gotten back in with some of our youth on D or even one of the forwards already on the team. If I find out we could have dealt Steen to get into the draft and pick up one of Cherapanov or Esposito I'm going to be pissed.

What makes it worse is Cherapanov and Esposito go to Eatern conference teams we have to get past in order to make it into the playoffs.

That is why the leafs are going downhill, we traded Cherepanov/Esposito for a 30 year old SJ Back up goalie

I am now really depressed, a) that we could have had one of those two with our draft pick, especially in Espo and b) the fact we didn't trade back in to pick one of those two up. Pittsburgh looks so strong adding Espo to their young core.

Is it a guarantee that JFJ would've picked either, or passed them up like half of the teams in the NHL did?
