GT: Suns vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Mon Dec 20, 2010 3:56 am

When: 8:30 PM ET, December 20, 2010
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Image

Starting Lineups:

Suns:
PG - Steve Nash
SG - Vince Carter
SF - Grant Hill
PF - Robin Lopez
C - Marcin Gortat

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

Well we're going to be the first team to get a look at the Suns new additions and hopefully its going to take some time for them to click. The key as always with the Suns is going to be stopping Steve Nash, we play some great defense on the pick and roll if we want to stop the Suns. And on the other end we're going to need to pound the ball inside, both Lopez and Gortat like to foul and if we can get those two in foul trouble it should be an easy win.

Go Spurs!!

If this was a road game perhaps the Pho crowd gets the Suns going but with us playing at home Spurs take this one.

We have had no problem matching people's energy this year and it needs to continue. Not so easy win with Hill out but another one in the books.

B2B for Phx, they just beat OKC. I always enjoy watching games vs these guys. The playoff sweep still leaves a bad taste, so any victory against the Suns has some value.

Go team!!!!!

Yeah, Suns is in b2b and this will be the first game for Vince, Pietrus, and Gortat. I doubt we'll have too much trouble on this game. Can't wait to watch it either. Really want to see the new look Suns. I personally don't see how that team works. 3 point shooting not as good, no inside presence, and atleast Jrich was a strong post up player. They upgrade the defense with Gortat and Pietrus and become what? They were one of the worst defensively, Gortat and Pietrus doesn't even make them an average defensive team IMO.

A new team that has just formed is obviously an unknown quantity. On paper it looks like an easy win for the spurs but teams who complete trades can come out with new found energy.

Prediction: Spurs vets keep it together down the stretch to win in a close one, cracking 100 again.

I don't see how the trade/s work for any team involved, least of all the Suns. That's just a mess right there. If I were Nash I'd seek a trade to a contender.

Damn, I was hoping to see them play.

In that case, I can't see us losing this game at all. Suns are severely short handed and they're on a back to back.

Hi.. don't understand your sig. You didn't trade Hedo for Gortat and 1st.

Anyways, the Suns look like a team full of role players outside of Nash now. Atleast JRich was a borderline Allstar talent. That team have such guys anymore. I'm having a hard time seeing them make the playoffs. What they lost in Jrich won't be replaced by what Pietrus and Gortat brings defensively. Pietrus and Gortat makes them better defensively but not THAT MUCH. Losing Jrich thou makes it look like they need Nash to score 30 and 10 now. Grant Hill is likely their 2nd best scorer and it's hard to see Vince reaching 20 ppg anymore even with Nash.

I'm excited about the game but I don't think the Spurs will have a difficult time. Suns have never found a groove this season.

10 minutes into the game and Suns have yet to make a subtitution. Vince, Gortat, and Pietrus should be able to play today. Jrich played for Orlando, don't know why the new guys on Phoenix doesn't. Hopefully we get a showing. Grant Hill and Nash is playing awesome.

Reffs started being a little bit homers, but afterwards, it was all, i mean ALL for the Suns..

Suns by 1 at halftime. Wonder what happened with our bench that take that 11 points lead and then disappear from the court..Pop?
Put Splitter on this game Gregory!! We need his pick n roll defense and his scoring in the paint; Frye and Lopez defense is below average..

Spurs cannot let the Suns shoot 62%. They don't have easy points off the pick and roll so they need to go at Nash and really punish them.

I like Jared Dudley's game very much. Tough defensively, shoots the ball well. A Raja Bell type.

Neal was the reason the Spurs kept ahead.

Gary Neal had a great game tonight, he's the main reason we won this one.

Really disapointed that Gortat, VC and Pietrus didn't play. I was really looking forward to seeing how they all fit in on the Suns.

I liked C Quinn's game. Five point, a couple of assists and no mistakes that i remembered.. For being a 12-13 guy, that's pretty good. He can step up when he's not playing garbage time..

Our shooting is falling a little bit..This week against Denver and Magics on a b2b would be REALLY taugh.. Manu needs to step up soon, especially his 3 pointer..

Nice win. I know the Suns were depleted but so were we kinda. Anderson, Splitter and Hill out.
