Re: Andre Miller
The best thing we can do is force feed Flynn as many minutes as he can handle this year. Give him the opportunity to play through mistakes and figure the game out in a low pressure environment. If he doesn't show any improvement then I am for moving him, but I am not ready to raise the white flag on Flynn after a 90 game career.

I don't agree with that at all.

Again I'll take Miller over Ridnour and Flynn any day of the week and maybe I'll be able to enjoy watching games untill Rubio signs.

I might be coming around to this. The point guards here are pretty bad no matter how you spin it so maybe getting a veteran upgrade, even if it's just for a season, might help the team's overall and individual development.
I still think Miller sucks though.

He can't shoot. We all remember how bad Sessions was here.

Wes, Martell, Beas and Love all can shoot, it's completely different from last year, they need a pg who can give them easy shots, they don't need a pg who can shoot. Ridnour can shoot, so what good did it give us? Flynn is just not that good, there's a reason people can't wait for Rubio to get here. Just admit it. I want a good vet pg to hold the fort untill Rubio decides it time for him to come to NBA, Miller gives me just that.

Re: Andre Miller
The nice thing about Miller is his team option for next season. If Rubio comes or not, we'd have security.
Miller/Pryzbilla/Fernandez for Ridnour/Pekovic/Brewer/MEM 1st?

I'll do Miller, Pryz for Ridnour, Pekovic, Flynn. I value Mem pick over Flynn, I don't care that Flynn was the 6th pick, so was Foye(7th to be exact), Kwame was 1st, Sheldon was 5th, Darko-2nd, the list can go on.

Admit what exactly? Miller still can't shoot regardless of who's around him, so it doesn't change the fact that he's a total liability on that end of the floor. And he's currently shooting 5.6% from the 3pt line. That's historically bad.
Besides, the main reason people want Rubio is for his defence. Miller is an improvement over what we currently have but so is half the league.
And I'm sorry but this;

Is beyond (Please Use More Appropriate Word). In what way does selling out the future for pieces that might not even be on the team next year make sense? At least Klomp's idea had Fernandez coming back.

I could live with this type of scenario.

I don't think Portland would. We rip on Ridnour, Pekovic, and Brewer all of the time. We dump some of our worst contracts, just to get an expiring, a big, and the overrated but still productive Spaniard.

Yeah, it looks like Portland is targeting players to actually upgrade the roster, i.e. Iggy, Crawford, and not a load of crap.

Re: Andre Miller
Portland fan here...Peace. Been reading, looking for Rubio news, and found this read. Just wanted to say that Miller is a great leader and talk of him being underrated is true. He and Roy, because of Roy, can't co-exist currently and I think he could do a great job mentoring Flynn and Telfair.
Is Rubio likely to come over and play for you guys? Does he have buyout issues? Just curious, but also wondering if this has any legs at all? Could be tweaked?
Wolves trade: Ridnour and rights to Rubio
Blazers trade: Miller, Cash, 2011 1st(from NO top 7 protection I think), 2012 1st
Just think Rubio would be happy to play with Rudy in Portland, and think you guys get some value as well. Portland would do it simply to please Roy.

Rubio, though he may suck as much as Jonny Flynn when he comes over, is now considered a franchise savior by MN fans. After he comes over and sucks for a while, we may consider dealing for your picks.

Re: Andre Miller
While we're on the topic of over-the-hill point guards, what about Chauncey? If Denver winds up trading Carmelo and looking to rebuild, Chauncey would be the next guy to go. Maybe a 3-teamer where we send some junk to NYK, who sends Randolph to Denver, who sends Chauncey to us... Denver saves a bunch of cash and gets a look at a young prospect (maybe we could even grab Birdman to backup Love and Darko).
Chauncey can still shoot okay, he's a good floor general, better defender than what we have, & can teach our young guys a thing or two about winning games. He may even put a few extra butts in the seats for nostalgic reasons. He definitely helps in the short-term, & may help the team develop more swagger and a winning mentality. After this year, we either trade his expiring deal to a contender for a late first or some other small asset, or keep him around to ease Rubio's NBA transition.

Billups is much more expensive then Miller. Andre has more left in his tank compared to Chauncey.
