Melo to the Nets isn't bad for the Knicks because it means that we don't gut our team, and then still push for top talent after the season.
BAF Pacers

F. Campazzo/ J. Clarkson/ K. Lewis Jr
D. Mitchell/ J. Richardson/S. Merrill
Luka/Melo
Zion/Gay/Gabriel
KAT/Kabengele

F. Mason, Jontay, J. Harris

Hey guys I just thought about this:

Buike+Gallo+Chandler+Mozgov+Mason+3mill. cash =15mill. in salary

We could keep Curry's huge expiring in use it in a seperate deal for someone like Camby for example. Imagine:

Felton/Douglas
Fields/Douglas
Melo/Williams
Stoudemire/Randolph
Camby/Turiaf

A Melo/Stat/Camby frontcourt would be criminal. Our bench would be thin though.

Take out Chandler or Gallo and add AR and I have no problems with that. Although I feel like throwing in Mozgov is pointless. Keep him out too.

I share the sentiment that if we get him, great. If he goes to the Nets, enjoy ruining the prime of your career Melo while we go get a very good defensive big and another wing scorer like Mayo. PEACE.

They allegedly want pick(s). This doesn't provide that. Also there is no guarantee Curry gets you Camby so with other teams in search of big as well, you could be stuck with

Felton/Douglas
Fields/Douglas
Melo/Williams
Stoudemire/Randolph
Turiaf/S. Williams
Karl Anthony-Towms

There goes my hero. He's ordinary.

It would suck but if he is going to relent and go the Nets, so be it. We'll move on and be better than them for the rest of his prime.

I could see something like this:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2frl48q

melo,billups,harrington
for
favors,harris,murphy,humphries,ross+ 3draft picks

billups/farmar
morrow/vujacic
melo/outlaw
harrington/outlaw
lopez/petro

That's the blueprint to mediocrity.

Maybe its a false report to try and get the Knicks to make a desperation offer so that Denver can get the most from NY in a bad situation for them.

man this ain't no false report. Pharmcat is right. Melo wants his money, location be damned. Just get it over with. Donnie is doing the right thing not gutting the team for this selfish asshat. He can be the best player on a non-playoff team for the next 3 years while playing next to a soft overhyped Center. Congrats, Melo.

Wojina said no deal is imminent so chill. Carmelo also said he is like Lebron and just wants to win.

I still think it might be a false report but, if it isn't, I agree with you. Go ahead Melo--make the biggest mistake of your career. He would be better off staying in Denver.

Guys, I am not happy about this, but I am now utterly convinced that Melo is as good as a Knick. Let's hope Walsh doesn't give up the farm in the process, and that he's as good as everyone tells me he is - because if / when Amare breaks down, we'll need reinforcements.
