2012 Off season

Post#1 » by ray ray » Wed Dec 22, 2010 1:47 am

This is soly my opinion and speculation of my part. I beleive that there is many wy the Suns decided to make the Orlando trade. Of course, they get rid of Hedo's contract and they obtain Marcin Gortat which I believe will surprise many people with his abilities. But I believe that the bigger reason why they did is because they are looking into the future. With this move they have created enough cap space for the 2012 year. Why is this important? In that offseason there are two NBA players that have player options and have expressed their desires to play along each other. Who might they be? Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. They are both unsatisfied with their current teams/organizations and theirs speculation around the league that they both have already committed to play with each other. Why the Suns you may ask? If you look at the current pay roll for the Suns for that year, they will have committed about 32 mil for 2012 with Frye, Gortat, Warrick (he will be traded imo) Childress, Dudley and possibly Dragic ( he wil resign w/ the suns imo).

Meanwhile, the Margic will have close to 60 mil with Arenas, Hedo, Duhan, QRichardson, Redick and Bass. The Hrnets will have about 38 mil but I highly doubted that they will sign with the Hornets due to the uncertainty of their franchise. Of course, theirs also a possibility that they do a sign and trade with the Magic or they both end up in LA or NY but there’s a chance that they will be able to bring them to the valley of the sun. If the Suns just let Carter contract expire, I think the possibilites and chances will increase immensely. As I stated before, this is what I’m speculating. I’m hoping that this is the case because then, we will have a chance in winning the title of course.

A lineup that consist of:

Paul/Dragic
Dudley/??
Childress/??
Frye/Gortat
Horward/Lopez

One can dream.. right?

Or, Vince Carter absolutely beasts with us, we pick up his option, so we could use his expiring contract (next year) for a possible trade chip, or just let it expire while maintaining a high level of basketball, then we could go for Dwight and CP3, while still being entertained.

I wouldn't want Paul's personality on this team, but I'm down for Howard

I think Howard would come, assuming we had enough money to do so and if the situation with Orlando goes out of hand. I'm sure Nash would re-sign for less money if he's still playing at a good level and who wouldn't want to play with him?

Whatever. All pipe dream nonsense for now.

Comes across as a primadonna and he flops/complains almost as bad as Fisher/Ginobili/etc from what I've watched.

I like the thinking of this post.

However, I would rather have Deron Williams to go with Dwight Howard rather than Chris Paul. DWill is a FA the same year and is bigger, sturdier and argubaly a better player. Granted he is 2 years older than CP3 but I think the PG position needs maturity and wisdom in addition to atheletic ability.

PG: Deron Williams/Dragon (would dragic leave not wanting to play bench? If so the bench is weakened)
SG: ???/Dudley
C: Dwight Howard/(Gortat or Lopez)
SF: ???Hill will be retired/Chilly
PF: ???/Frye

Yeah, but Howard and Paul already have a friendship, hence them wanting to play together.

How weird would it be, Melo/Amare in NYC, CP3/D12 here, and Lebron/Wade in MIA

Chris Paul is the best PG in the league. He has no weakness. If D-Will improves his offense, defense and passing ability he might catch up to Paul one day.

I like DWill. Suns have always been about point guards, DWill or CP3 need to come here, lol. Or maybe Ricky Rubio...

I prefer Williams over Paul most any day.

Williams reminds me of Kevin Johnson.

I'll take Williams too, but I doubt he leaves Utah unless they go completely ****.

Wouldn't it be funny if Howard ended up here with Gortat as his back up?

Gortat would find a way to void his contract if we got Dwight lol.

Also I prefer DWill over CP3. I think CP3 is better offensively, individually and in terms of creating for the team but only by a small margin. But I like DWill's size, versatility and defense more. CP3's defense is very good but I like the idea that DWill can hold his own defensively against 2 if there was ever a switch or if there's a stretch where the team plays small ball. He's a better individual defender than CP3 imo.

Rosterbation at it's finest.
