You think Donnie doesn't have backup plans?

Idk, I agree with some people and think if he wanted to be a Net, he already would be...But he could also be getting nervous that Denver is going to play hardball and he won't get his money..

Chandler is NOT an acceptable SG. That is exactly why they were looking to move him, If it wasn't for Fields, Wil would have been traded. Plus that team has low quality depth. They get out played by most benches.

This is just about who is going to blink first. It won't be Donnie. IMO, Denver simply cannot afford to take the chance of getting nothing. They simply MUST get something back. Curry, Chandler, and a couple of firsts should do it. They can offer Randolph and ONE first, or trade Randolph for a 2012 pick and give a 2011 and a 2013. Offering more is overpaying, given the circumstances. Some of you guys would really get fleeced.

I do Donnie is one of the best in the business and I know he has backup plans he did this summer with the lee trade but none of them are as good as melo I know Donnie can make us a better team without melo but melo is a top five superstar and their are not many left that are available melo can change this franchise for the next ten years if we don't get melo it's not the end if the world it wasn't the end of the world when lebron went to Miami but it sucks to always have our names in the rumors on where players want to go and for them not to come. I do believe Donnie will get us melo its justi want a team to be here and stay and not always here rumors of gutting our team for someone I want a team that's hear for the next few yeats with just some minor tweaks to improve I do believe donnie will get us melo and I am a huge supporter if him ever since he was hired and I believe he knows what he is king and will continue to make our team better and a championship contender fo years to come.

That would be all offense and no defense.. If we get Melo they need to get a Center that defends extremely well, otherwise we will just be another PHX SUNS.

Let's all say this together...He isn't risking any money by waiting until FA.

His biggest criticism was his shooting but he's improved that and is shooting 47%/36%/82% ..... plus the Knicks are without much of a bench as it is so your reply on both points has no merit now. Donnie could address the depth this off season. Especially since the core would be there already.

It was his all around game from what I read. They just feel he isn't a guard. Fields isn't a great shooter and they LOVE him there. I also am of the opinion that Wil's numbers and efficiency will dip if he plays the sg.

The bench we have would fine fine now if the guys were all healthy. Adding Melo as a FA makes the team unbelievably deep.

His role on the floor would be nearly identical to what it is now regardless of whether you call him a SF or a SG.... the only difference would be who he guards. So all you have is 'opinion' based on last year's numbers and I point to his improved shooting and play now.....

Sure we can hope he comes as a FA..... big risk there, no guarantee though he will make it here as one.

This IMO could be the best DAL offer:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=278zuv7

Beabois, 22, pg
D.Jones, 22, sg
Mahinmi, 24, c
Butler, exp.
+2011 and 2013 unprotected first round picks
3 mio $
+ Den saves 5 mil in trade, meaning 10 mil in luxury tax

for

Carmelo, Carter, S. Williams

Well if Cuban is willing to pay?

Good luck with that Denver. If that is worth seeing Melo 4 times a year, have fun.

So they get a point guard (even though they have Lawson), a shooting guard (even though they have Afflalo), a center, a bad small forward who won't be on the team after next year, two picks in the late 20s, and 3 million dollars. Brilliant.

Not to mention...Denver would be trading its STAR PLAYER to a team in its conference.

Replace Chandler with Fields and I's say you have something. With the 3 bullie boys you need off the ball glue types ...
