Memo for Redick?
Orlando lands the ideal big to play alongside Howard. (Given Memo can still be efficient)
Utah fills its biggest void, which is a perimeter threat.
Obviously there would have to be other players, possibly other teams involved, but this would seem to make a lot of sense for both teams. Memo would have to prove he can still play at the same level of course, but seems like both teams could really benefit. Or maybe I am just being a homer.

I don't think they'd do it. I'm so-so on if I'd do it, given that Memo gives us both a reliable big man and an outside threat.

I'm a big no on this.
JJ looks really good next to Dwight when he's getting wide open 3's and has a green light. He wouldn't have that oppotunity here. Memo is far more valuable to this team when playing than JJ would ever be.

I was thinking about this too. I would probably do it...I think JJ would be an awesome fit here and we need his outside shooting. He is solid driving to the hoop too.
I'm just not that big on Memo as everyone else is. I'm just not sure how much he is going to help us.
At this point I would trade him for Bass...

I don't see JJ as that much of an improvement over Bell, and definitely not at the expense of Memo.......

I think you get a 15% on the grammar portion of life. It's called the "Shift" key, and you can easily reach it with your left pinky. Thanks for contributing.

Every day there are dozens of grammatical errors and misspellings on this board and you're teeing off on this guy for not capitalizing? I'm all for correcting grammar (and I often do it myself), but let's at least be consistent.

I think the grammar corrections were more of a comment on how hyperbolic and non-constructively critical toyguc's response to the original post was. I'm just guessing, though, and I could definitely be wrong.

Yeah, it's a bit much to compare Okur/Reddick to Deron/Bonner.

Re: Memo for Redick?
Its sad that Memo's injury has such a bad history of players recovering well from it that we are even debating this scenario.
If there was a way we could get another rebounding/defensive big man back in the deal, and or save a good deal of money, then I would consider it.

Re: Memo for Redick?
I think a lot of people inflate Memo's value. It's not as though he plays very good defense and his contract isn't very good. I like what Francisco Elson has given us so far. I'm not sure Memo has much left in his tank and somebody like Redick has his best years ahead of him. I would probably do it seeing as Redick is a sharpshooter and that is something the Jazz lack. It would be smart to possibly go after somebody like Kendrick Perkins in the offseason to get a bit more size on the roster.
I wouldn't be upset if this trade went through.

Re: Memo for Redick?
You can't easily do this trade anyway since Redick is a base-year compensation player. That means his outgoing trade value is only $3.6M while his actual salary is $7.25M. Makes it basically impossible for the Jazz to trade for him without adding to their luxury tax bill (the actual salary number is what counts for cap and tax purposes).

I love arbitrary assertions; based on them you just can make a case for whatever you wants to.
About the proposed trade itself... no thanks. I think I probably want some rest from Duke dudes.
