Lac, Sac, NJ, Det, CLE, & CHA all look to be in the running for Lotto picks. All need a PG solution.

That's assuming Irving actually declares. If we win the lottery and he enters the draft, you have to at least keep Rubio or Irving.

I think you take Irving, hopefully trade Flynn + Utah/Memphis 1sts or Rubio for our unprotected first. Otherwise you can take Perry Jones. One player I really like if he falls or we can use our two later picks to move up is Terrence Jones from Kentucky

Irving would be interesting, but now that's he's pretty lost his entire season we only have a couple of games to work off of. Perry Jones is REALLY interesting to me. His drafting would force Love out, but if KLove keeps playing at his currently level, I think we can move him for another high end prospect. I'm at the point where dealing Love and getting Favors, then drafting Irving and dealing Rubio would really excite me. If Favors can't be had, then we go with Perry and try and deal Love for a solution at SG or SF. Any way you slice it, it would move us forward for a bright future in a hurry.

Jones doesn't force out Love, at least not right away. You play him in the Tolliver role.

Agreed, and I'm not totally convinced Jones will be an NBA PF exclusively.

How many 6'11" small forwards are there in the league? He's got good handles for a PF, but poor handles for a wing. I don't see it.

The three most intriguing players to me right now are all the euros: Kanter, Motiejunas, and Valanciunas. I agree with the overall sentiment though, that Irving is probably the best prospect and at the very minimum we would take him and trade down or trade Rubio.

Jones has good enough handles for a wing, the issue for guys that size is typically defense and the ability to stay in front of their man on the perimeter. He most likely ends up as a 4, but we can worry about that later. His length may also allow Love to play some center.

I'm curious what you guys think about this question:

I understand why many players would stay in college an extra year if it looks like the season will be shortened by a lock-out. However, there is great value in being the #1 pick, not just in contract but in marketing. Moreover, becoming the rookie of the year, even in a weak draft class, can only help a player's personal value. Moreover, another year in college may mean an injury that prevents an eventual multi-million dollar payday.

How do you think a lock-out would affect the next draft class, and do you think the same affect would apply to a guy like Irving?

Irving's still at the top of my draft board. Too bad he's out for the foreseeable future, I'm very interested in seeing what kind of numbers he would put up the rest of the season. What he was putting up before he got hurt was borderline no-way-in-hell-someone-can-do-that-over-a-full-season ridiculous.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''
