If the Nets are willing to give up Favors plus and picks for unsigned Melo more power to them. Ballsy move but respectable.

#Nuggets F Carmelo Anthony has been excused by the team from tonight’s game in San Antonio due to a death in his family.

apparently they also forgot to tell him that he doesnt need to be excused by them since he's already traded to the nets.

Oh yes you can. The dude wants his cake and he wants to eat it. But Walsh has higher priorities. He's actually trying to build a championship contender by making a trade that favors the Knicks, rather than merely gratifying an overgrown child with elite basketball skills.

LOL considering how badly he got bent over in that HOU trade, I wouldnt put too much stock in it

my problem is the playing around, just make the one real offer and move on

as i said in the other thread: first in the summer DEN could have one of AR or gallo, I remember all those talk here how both shouldnt be included....3 months later, they can have both, but fields is off limits....meanwhile other teams are entering the fray, and melo is still stuck in limbo (which might lead him to go somewhere else).

Never expect a spoiled brat to act like a man. Melo was always going to crack under the pressure.

My bet is on Dallas right now. Cuban only has to tell him that his money is worth more in Texas without the state tax. At the end of the day that's what it's all about. If it wasn't he would wait it out and sign for the Knicks. The fact that he isn't willing to do that tells you all you need to know.

Bring me Iggy!

Pharmcat, Donnie's deal with Houston looks pretty good. Possibly no swap (or not a significant one) this season, and the team should be better next season too (when the pick is protected for top 5 anyway).

So it's Jordan Hill (who is not doing anything really) for two Max slots. Yeah the other teams gave up less to deal guys like Hinrich, but Jeffries was worse than Hinrich and the bottom line IS the bottom line: Doesn't look like some great trade for Houston at all right now. They're in line to get nothing much out of it.

I personally still think he's coming...when? I'm not sure. Everyone is reporting that NY is his number one by far...including Broussard and ESPN. He's not going to NJ, because let's be serious...it's the Nets. Dallas could make a move but he wants to play in NY so I'm not worried about that. No team worries me...

@captain subtext - If he's spoiled, and has his mind set on NY like everyone reported and is reporting, wouldn't that help us? Nobody is going to change his mind because he wants what he wants.

He wasn't traded to NJ...Denver accepted two trades and it didn't end up happening because Melo will not sign the extension. If he were to go to NJ, it would have already happened by now.

You know, it is very possible that someone in his family ACTUALLY did die! Let's think about that for a sec...

You bring up an excellent point about the state tax factor. I've always thought that teams from Texas and Florida had an unfair advantage. That said, I think one of the main reasons he wants to leave Denver to begin with, is because LaLa career aspirations. Then again, if Cuban offers her her own show on his network....
