LeBron didn't really want to come here, so nothing we can do about that one but people still laugh at us for not landing him. Imagine if Melo goes elsewhere, knowing the whole world knows he wanted to be here, but the Knicks couldn't land him either? Ugh.

If Lebron and Melo dont come here, I hope theirs not another Chris Paul or Deron Williams thread next year. I would just give up with getting any superstar if we werent able to land 2 superstars we talked about getting for 3+ years.

Sure but while Knick fans will be dissapointed, guys who do the laughing will still be the biggest losers cause it goes to show how stupid they are. So it ain't all bad.

^The only thing I'm personally mad at with this situation is that it's holding up potentially other Deals (just like the Lebron situation), and deals that may not be available again later on as we're currently in limbo-mode.

In other Melo news, Carmelo Anthony may step down from Team USA to play for Team Puerto Rico now that Rick Pitino will be the new head coach for the Puerto Rico team.

I really do not understand how With melo being so close to Free Angency, now is the time to give in and settle and "deal"with a trade to NJ?? I really hope that Meloand Den can come to a compromise. Im sure Melo does not want to go to a depleted Knicks team. He has to know that Knicks are trying, and I am confident that donnie is using back channels to gauge where Melo is at. Mark Cuban told the Star-Telegram that there is no truth to a CBS Sports report that the Mavericks are trying to acquire Carmelo Anthony from the Nuggets.

Sources told Ken Berger of CBS Sports that Anthony would be a "rented" player for the Mavericks, who would be unlikely to re-sign him as a free agent after the season.

Cuban said he was furious when he read the report.

"If [Ken Berger] is going to make things up, the reporter should at least be honest enough to say he is making things up," Cuban said. "Not one grain of truth to anything he said."
