GT: Spurs vs Nuggets

Post#1 » by co_laper » Wed Dec 22, 2010 6:10 pm

Nolan is an A$$.

Melo isn't playing tonight because of death in the family. I actually had this game circled as a loss (Denver out for revenge) and also Orlando as a loss because it's B2B, away, and Orlando has yet to win a game with the new team. I'm guessing they'll win sooner or later and beating a hot team could be extra motivation.

But.. Melo not playing, no Kenyon Martin either and I think no Chauncey Billups. They're too shorthanded (Even though they still have enough firepower) and too undisciplined IMO (No Billups and Melo) to take this game from us.

Either way, we're likely to lose the Orlando game.

Dammit I was just going to make this!

Nuggets are going to be without Melo and Billups so this should be an easy win.

We better not underestimate them just because their best two players are out.

Billups is playing. I'm surprised we got a look of Duncan-Splitter pairing. I thought Pop abandoned those plans.

Splitter with the great game in limited minutes. I like how he's not backing down from the physical play.

Neal was amazing! It seems like every shot he takes is money.

I think I've missed only one or two Spurs game this year and I have never seen Neal with this type of confidence. He wasn't deferring at all, almost as if he thinks this was his team. He's not backing down from Billups either and for a while it looked like everytime Billups do something, Neal made it a point that he's gonna get Billups back. And he succeed. Damn.. Neal was awesome.

Btw, the one thing I've really noticed lately is how well we execute down the stretch. It's been a common theme especially when we're playing inexperienced, or in today's case, undisciplined ball club. I've gotten to the point where if we're still close enough with 6 minutes in the ball game, I'm confident about our chances.

Closing games out is important for a championship team and that looks like something we seem to have right now along with LA, Boston, and Dallas. Don't know about Magic (after recent trades) and Miami.

Yep, I see that as well. It's almost more reassuring that we're coming back from deficits and closing out teams as opposed to killing them every night. It's the sign of a confident, experienced, composed group of players. Pop doesn't panic, TD doesn't panic, and that trickles down the rest of the guys.

I didn't worry when we were down 9 coming into the 4th. I knew we had the game.
