That's not really true. Carter has the better career true shooting percentage. JRich's was only higher in the years he was playing alongside Nash.

J-rich was pretty similar to amare, marion, LB- they all got better because of Nash. I think Carter was a star without a PG in toronto and blew up in jersey with Kidd. He became an efficient baller in orlando and I think its going to continues here. I wonder about VC's b-ball IQ because J-rich was kinda dumb!

I hoep we keep it. Losing Clark meant losing a huge chunk of our youth. Use these two first round picks to find good quality youth in the draft. I actually wouldn't mind if they packaged both these picks together to get a higher spot in the draft. At the moment, I can see Orlando's pick being low to mid 20's, with ours being mid teens. If we could package them both for a 9 or 10 pick, I would be very happy.

It would be nice to see us move up in the draft but I think we're more likely going to address a more short-term need, a proper PF, this season before we even look at the draft.

I honestly can not envision the Suns making another big trade this season. We won't make a trade for a PF anytime soon IMO. Gentry seems to like Frye starting at PF, and I have to admit I don't mind it either.

Since we won't be contending for a championship, if we are to look for a PF, we should focus on finding a great PF in the draft, and hope he will become the next Amare.

That's just my opinion anyway. I'm not asking people to agree, but thats just my opinion.

There was talk about another trade coming. This was like right after the VC trade. I think they might see how we go and if we're still sucking, we might move Warrick or Childress for a 4.

Hey, how about this guy at PF? ;) Can't believe he's still just 25.

Oh, and he's used to playing alongside Gortat too :)

Wasn't Lampe part of the Suns a few seasons ago? I don't know much about him though.

Yes he was, ages ago. He was 18 back then. After his return to Europe he was beasting in Russian League and EuroCup for Dinamo Moscow and was also a force for Poland during Eurobasket 2009. After a bad spell in Tel Aviw, he's back to Russia (Unix Kazan) and back to beasting mode as well, averaging 13.5 + 8 on 65% FG in 27 minutes (EuroCup).

lilfishi22 wrote:As I mentioned before in another post, the expectation and the role will be different for VC coming into Phoenix. Orlando expected some sort of Kobe-esque shot creator and clutch guy in VC because they were so desperate for one. IMO Orlando had unrealistic expectations of VC because he was meant to replace Hedo who had brought them so much success in the last few seasons he was there. In Phoenix, we already have one of the best shot creators and clutch guys in Nash so coming in VC will not have to be *that guy.* All he has to do is fit with Nash and the team and that's something I'm not too worried about because he fit in fine with Orlando and was OK with taking on a smaller role.

But Tastic is also right. Carter is a significant upgrade over JRich in the ball-handling and shot creator department. Where VC outshines JRich is in the shot creating, especially when the play breaks down and Nash doesn't have the ball. He's comfortable (as am I with him) creating his own shot when we need him to (ie in the clutch). I rarely liked seeing the ball in JRich's hands longer than it took for him to take the shot because of his iffy ball-handling and ability to create on his own. The thing I like about VC over Hedo is that his game isn't predicated on him creating a his own shot to be productive. VC has a solid off-the-ball game and his shot creating skills just compliments it. His off-the-ball game isn't as good as JRich's but it's still quite good and it'll get better once he develops that chemistry with Nash and the system.

Only thing you didn't include in there is the percentages and shot selection. JRich has the obvious edge on both accounts. I am all for what VC may bring, but he gotta be more efficient on the offense than he was in Orlando.

You know that Vince is shooting career highs in FG% (47.0) and eFG% (52.1) this season right? And his TS% (55.7) is just off his career high of 55.9%. If that's not efficient enough for you, I don't know what to tell you. Vince isn't going to get much more efficient than that.

PF's I would like Suns to go after:

1st Tier PF but (but not likely) - Josh Smith (atlanta), Z-bo (Mremphis, posslible but big contract)

More realistic and posible future All-Star PF - Andray Blatche (Wizards) 24 yo, 6-11, 265 pounds, big guy. Avg 17 points, 8+ rbs per game. This guy is a beast who can dribble and take it to the basket. Wizards consider him a player of the future for them, but I think he can be had for the right price. The ony negative is a bit of an attitude, butts-heads with the coach at times. I'm sure Nash and Hill can help straighten him out.

Nash/Dragic
VC/Dudly
Lopez / Gortat
Hill/Chilly
Blatche/Frye

get him for the min - six foul to give on guys like Gasol

interview I saw says he's much stronger and bigger now, better outside shot, good pick and roll player

hoopshype says he was not aggressive enough

he might be a handy guy to have around

really, they had me at "6'11", 275"

This answered an earlier question I had:
• Earl Clark and Mickael Pietrus swapped teams after the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns completed a six-player trade over the weekend, but they may end up renting one another's houses. It's common in the NBA for players who are traded in the middle of the season to rent a house and sometimes, the two players involved can work out a temporary swap that gives each a place to stay. Clark and Pietrus are trying to work out a similar arrangement. For now, both are staying in a hotel because the NBA allows teams to provide players with a room for forty-five days after a trade.

I would use up that 45 days just because it's free.
