Interesting, but I think he's a little overrated. Seems like he pisses people off everywhere he goes.

Cousins vs. Brown...yikes.

I was just going to suggest BROWN but you beat me to it !
I doubt the KINGS would take him as the coach because BROWN would want to much control over the organization as well as way to much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think Larry Brown is a good coach (HoF caliber), but I'm really not sure if he's the right one. He likes to screw with players, and I don't know if that's what this team needs. Don't get me wrong though, I would take him over Westphal right now.

I'm still on the JVG bandwagon, if he's interested.

What we all really should do is collerctively chip in & buy a page in the sports page just to write a letter begging PETRIE & THE MALOOFS to fire PW . That would be a huge statement to make when KINGS fans would pay their money just to have a page in the sports page to get him fired !

Listening to Westphal on Grants show just makes me want to give up until something is done. The end result of the Warriors game is taking the attention away from the REAL problem. Even the positives in play with this team are fictitious. There's no substance to it. Geoff Petrie ARE YOU ALIVE!? These guys are paid millions of dollars and can't realize it! What the hell!?

What sucks is that PETRIE'S hands might be tide due to the Maloofs giving PW all of next year guaranteed the Maloofs might not even allow the firing due to not wanting to pay another coach while still paying PW contract !

who knows

Im with SacKingZZZ, did you expect him to say, ya we will be firing him soon.

saying "absolutely" is the kiss of death.

Case in point

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told NFL Network’s Albert Breer that Phillips’ job is “absolutely” safe.

It was joke. It always seems like when Petrie says something like that, the opposite occurs.

I doubt they'll fire him yet, just hope damage isn't done by the time it does finally happen.

I do hope he gets fired he seems to have lost the respect of his team and he seems to be doing more harm than good where our teams development is concerned. But when we do make tgis coaching change petrie needs to also bring in a couple more shooters so that the next coach doesnt have shooting problems from the start.

AGREED PW is truly a cancer to this team even if he has the right heart & meaning for what he does he seems to make matters far worse & blows things way out of portion !

Here's the thing, and I've brought it up before. whatever coach they find next, they have to do so based on the talent they have and with a general idea of how they should play. Mostly Cousins and Evans of course. When Westphal was hired, that wasn't part of it. They needed a guy fast and cheap, and since they failed with young coaches they preferred some experience. Eddie Jordan and he were pretty much the only guys out there. Jordan went to Philly on a heftier deal. People talk about the team being cheap in terms of the roster, but believe you me, this coach is the equivalent. Lowest paid in the league if I recall.

Considering this team hasn't really been built for chemistry it should be no surprise that they may not be the most complimentary. They were picked on the basis of talent, not fit. The problem is we have a coach clashing with his players and struggling to find a rotation that works. When will everyone get the point already? He's subbed basically everyone in except the damn water boy and the problems still exist. You'd think it wouldn't take a direct hammer shot to the top of the head to get that the problem might lie elsewhere! They should put up a big banner that says, "DUH", in place of the Reke and Cousins one, or at least where it used to be.

This is exactly it, I don't think anyone should think that Westphals heart isn't in the right place with this, but approach and presentation are everything and he's failed miserably with this one.

So we fire Westphal. The 4th coach in 4 years, if I'm not mistaken.
So we bring in a replacement. His replacement fails to produce immediate results and the players decide they don't wanna listen to him either.
So we fire him. The 5th coach in 5 years, if I'm not mistaken.
So we bring in a replacement. His replacement fails to produce immediate results and the players decide they don't wanna listen to him either.
So we fire him. The 6th coach in 6 years, if I'm not mistaken.
So we bring in a replacement. His replacement fails to produce immediate results and the players decide they don't wanna listen to him either.
So we fire him. The 7th coach in 7 years, if I'm not mistaken.
So we bring in a replacement... (anybody notice a pattern here?)
