I agree. There's no point making any lateral moves with VC unless we get a PF who can play and fit in our system now.

Doris Sheeow???? do you forget what happen after he got his contract? every year he got fatter and would pass up shot after shot. Im all for ripping off jordan yet again, but lets focus on getting a quality player like gerald wallace!

also think we should stay away from captain jack and t thomas cause they're both kinda head cases.
I like Draft Picks/Cap Space, long walks on the beach, and short youtube clips.

Don't want Diaw or Jackson, but I think Tyrus Thomas would be an excellent pickup.

I understand why we wouldn't want Boris Diaw back. But lets not forget the reasons why Diaw didn't work out. 1) Yes, he was out of shape 2) he seemed content and seemed like he didnt strive to be a star. 3) The biggest reason in my opinion. Amare.

When Diaw had his break out year, he did it when he Amare was out. After STAT came back, Diaw never seemed to find himself with the Suns. Why? Because they both played in the same area in the court. If you look at tapes when Boris has his breakout year, he played the pick and roll with Nash as good as amare. The difference was, Amare dunked on people. Meanwhile, Boris went in with a soft lay-up or passed it up to an open three point shot. According to Mike D'Antoni, Boris was a better athlete than both Marion and Amare. I remember Mike telling a story that Marion and STAT where competing to see who had the better vertical leap. After a few attempts, Boris decided to include himself. Guess who won? Yup, Boris won by 4 inches. The thing that impressed Mike was that Boris did it so effortless. If the Suns were to bring Boris back, I truly believe that it would take us from trying to make the playoffs to competing for the West. Why? Because he's exactly what the Suns need for this year. A power forward that can defend, post up , rebound and facilitate as well. Steve Nash made a comment when Boris was here, he said that Boris made the game easier for him that year. A two time MVP saying that should be valued immensely. I'm for bringing Diaw back.

Maybe our TE’s and Orlando's 1st round pick for Boris.

Nash/Goran
Pietrus/Dudley
Hill/Childress
Diaw/Frye
Gortat/Lopez

Both lineup are defensive minded and you wont lose much going into the second unit..

I agree Rayray..... Unfortunately, you cant combine trade exceptions. Not with players, and not with other TEs.

To get Boris back it takes trading salaried players.

I am all for it. He is silky.

His deal expires with Nash. The cat can ball when he wants too. I too think he would be one of the better PF acquisitions we could make to round out this roster. Even though his bad taste still lingers.

Only Gerald Wallace interests me on the Bobcats, pass on pretty much everyone else unless its a deal that is highly in our favor.

I agree Ray Ray. I think also another factor we have to think about when talking about Boris being content after his contract year is that he started coming off the bench more. From 05-07, he started 129 of 154 games. From 07 until he was shipped off, his playing time dropped down to 26.3mpg from 33.3mpg the two seasons prior and he started only 19 of 104 games. It's clear that with Amare coming all the way back from his knee surgery, Diaw's role got smaller and smaller and while he did come into training camp out of shape, he was really only out of SSOL shape.

With his then-toxic contract expiring this season, I would certainly look at trading for him.

The most important thing the suns gave up when they traded Diaw was good post play on defense and offense. Just for those reasons it would be great to have him back. And yeah he was awesome in the pick and roll and has improved his three point shooing since leaving.

A 4 team trade? I'm not sure how we end up getting picks when it looks like we are coming away with a lot already. I also don't know if I'd do this yet. I still want to see this first crop of new guys gel before we make any more moves. If it turns out we still aren't doing well, I say we stand pat and wait till the off-season and rebuild. If we do well, but not really contending, then maybe, but I really don't believe this makes us contend with LA and Dallas.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I dont know what we are going to do with VC... but man, there are some options. I realize all the love for him, but, IMO, I really like what Dudley does when playing with Nash. He's just a freekin thorn out there in a Raja way. I think Nevetso summed it somewhere.... Play Peitrus...rest VC. If Peitrus clicks, bye bye Vince.

Feeling the Frank the tank Love! Long time no speak mate, hope you and the family are well and enjoying the holiday season.

To be honest I quite like the way this team has been assembled, for the most part. We are back to being at least 2 deep at every position, and chemistry is good in parts and will only improve. Tonight's starting lineup (Nash Duds Hill Frye Lopez) came out blazing and I like what they displayed. If we can tighten up the bench then I really don't think we'll have any excuses.

The only things I can really think of improving are:

- Getting a guy in the 2nd unit who can control the ball/ tempo under pressure (Goran is still learning.. Vince Carter?)
- Offloading one of our 5 quality wings (Chill or Piet or maybe Vince)
- Maybe upgrading of backup PF (Warrick)
- Maybe obtain a vet min 5th guard.

You can make the argument that trading either Chill or Piet plus Warrick for Diaw will satisfy a couple of those things:

Nash-Dragic
Dudley-Carter
Hill-Childress
Frye-Diaw
Lopez-Gortat

I almost prefer Piet in that 2nd lineup over Chill as we could use another 3pt shooter. Ball movement would be good with Goran, Vince and Diaw.

The only other glaringly obvious note is that we'd again be paying Diaw 9m to be a bench player, however we're in pretty good position financially now (no really bad contracts) and our bench actually earns its pay packet these days. And his contract must only have a year or 2 to go by now.

And it Cha do that deal with Por (unlikely but hey):

Miller-Livingston
Jackson-Henderson
Childress-?
Thomas-Warrick
Camby-Mohammed?

Not bad, Bit of an upgrade.

Miyagi, I goofed on the pick lineup, and based on feedback from PHI, I narrowed the incoming pick down to just getting NOH's back. I have the whole trade posted out on the trade board, but wanted someinput from Suns fans.

I hear what you are saying about not doing it yet. i wouldn't mins keeping this deal in our pocket, but if the POR CHA deal is in the works, I might make the move, just to take advantage of CHA's momentum to make a move.

Ever optimistic Nevetso... I am almost in the same boat. One more tweak, and a little time.

All good here thanks and hope the same for all you and the rest of the downunderwearers. Actually made it to AZ so getting a local dose of Sunsfansmanship. No games though, out of here come Monday.

Never thought I want Diaw back, but in the handful of games I have watched, there is little doubt he'd be our best post player. Its not an impossible thought.... VC returning to NC.... those 'heels' like to stick together as much as the 'Dookies'
