I mean he started a couple of games this year and there have been games where he plays 25+ minutes because dwight is in foul trouble and he couldn't manage to score more than 16. He is a decent defender, and he does have a nice little 10 foot jumper, he is just awkward and goofy as all hell on offense and I don't see how he'll have the opportunity to average that many points with all of your wings and Steve Nash in there

I'm not trying to say this dude is going to be the single answer for our rebounding woes, but I do think the rest of our team sucks THAT much at rebounding. If Gorosmash comes into the game with some intensity, the rest of the squad will probably just get out of his way so he can clean up (for lack of a better way to put it).
And with the knee issue, I would be surprisred to see VC get 30 minutes. At least to start, that is. I don't think he will average that many minutes throughout the rest of the season either though.
40% from the 3 sounds good for MP. Since his defense is what has been talked about within trade discussions, I can't say Im expecting much offensively. I'll be looking for him to do the stuff that doesn't show on a stat sheet.
**** IM EXCITED FOR TONIGHT! (even w/o VC's debut)

Yes, mp is an above average defender. No, he is not the next coming of Bruce bowen. There will be games where he just not into it. You will know it is one of these games if he is not hitting his shots (very streaky). Also, he will make you so happy he is on your team by hitting a 3 to tie the game or get within 1 or 2 and then he'll chuck it up as soon as he gets it again, no matter what the time is in the shotclock. Bone headed and doesn't understand the concept of pressure lol which with him can be a very good thing

Yea that sounds like a double edge sword situation there. Nothing we aren't used to with this high scoring and turnover prone offense we run here in PHX though haha

Sugar Cane wrote:I believe Gortat will score more than everyone is predicting here. I was Gortat's biggest hater on the Magic board, but Steve Nash has the ability to make everyone look better. Gortat will have some easier opportunities. He'll need to manicure his brick hands so that he can catch the ball on pnr situations but Nash will deliver with The Hammer in scoring position.
Everything seems about right...everyone is right not to expect double digit rebounding average. He'll have some big rebounding games but it seems that the more minutes he plays, the worse a player he becomes. Keep Robin as the starter and Gortat will look so much better.
