Tyreke's weight gain responsible for his struggles?
Reports over the summer were of Tyreke gaining 10-15 pounds of muscle. We know Tyreke has some nagging injuries, but has the increased mass Tyreke added over the summer making him PHYSICALLY unable to play effectively? It is possible the weight gain has slowed Tyreke down and affected his hang time, vertical, speed, athleticism to the point to where he just cant be effective as he was in his rookie year. He was BIG enough his rookie year, overpowering PGs and even wings...why add more weight? To add to his injuries and now these personal issues, have those combined with the added weight made Tyreke an average player? I think its in our best interest for Tyreke to take some time off, heal his injuries, take care of his personal issues and LOSE weight to get some the speed and explosiveness he's lacking. I know Tyreke was never an explosive athlete, but he was athletic enough and losing the weight just might be the extra push he needs.

Evans bulked up at 240 in the offseason but before the season started (preseason), he said basically he didn't like the extra bulk. So, he conditioned himself near his normal weight: 220. At the time, he was at 225. Probably right now, he is still at 225 or 220.
So, I don't think the weight is bothering him that much unless Evans abruptly gained weight during the season: which I doubt.
It still the (mild) plantar fasciitis that essentially making Evans its bitch.

Eh, unless it's directly tied the problems with his foot I don't think so. I agree, "shutting down" Tyreke for 1 game is comical. He looked good for the first time all season long after he sat that one game. I think that issue is just as obvious as the other "issues" surrounding this team.

Evans is getting to the rim, he's just not finishing at all. And his JS that he worked on all off-season long looks worse than his rookie season.

I remember reading somewhere that he is playing at around 230 this season. Evans "bulking" up to 240 over the summer was basically him getting out of shape(with him getting injured), I just dont see Evans or the Kings thinking him getting to 240 would help him in any way. He's probably cut that weight down some, but I doubt he is at 220 now.

He's getting to the rim using his bulk but he looks like he's lost a step. Not saying the plantar fascitis isnt affecting him, but an extra 10 or 15 pounds is more weight for his body to carry and when finishing he probably cant get up and hang like he did last season which could be why he's shooting so poorly.
