Catering to the Holy One caused.........

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Fri Dec 24, 2010 5:25 pm

The Suns to have absolutely no guys with shot creating talent.

They say the perfect guy for our system is a guy who can spot up play defense and shot threes, "we don't need a guy to create his shot, because of Nash." So what has this done to our team?

It leaves us looking pathetic when Steve is not in the game OR when he is doubled all night long last he was last night.

When Steve is playing; double and rotate quickly, when he isn't switch!!! It's that simple.

We (our organization) looks at people like Hedo, Amare, and JJ as people who are easily replaceable, because Steve is our ENTIRE offense.

I don't know about you guys, but we are a horrible team without Steve and when he is super pressured because who Steve needs to play with.

I am hoping VC gives us something  until we get NOT a PF, but someone who can create, be it a PF, SF or a SG.

Are you serious? We haven't done this at all. We SHOULD do this. But instead we've played him with guys like Hill, JRich, and Turk who are nothing like the player you describe.

Then we've played the kind of players you describe with Dragic. Brilliant.

The EC55 balling thread has me LOL'ing at this thread...
Suns fan during the KJ era (Coliseum), through the Barkley era (Am West Arena), and now the Nash era (US Airways Arena)!

 JRich create a shot, since when? A two step pull up J is not creating a shot for himself. When was the last time anyone of our players demanded a double team because they can create their own shot AND (maybe I need to include this in my post) GET TO THE WHOLE OFF OF THE DRIBBLE??!! Grant Hill?....Mr. pull up J, only time he gets to the hoop is on a fast break. Hedo CAMPED at the three line shooting his best percentage of his career?!!!

If you think these guys are shot creates  ....just  . Jrich a shot creator...Dud can't even dribble  Grant is too slow

BTW, Goran STILL can't dribble . That is why he needs so many shooter. He can go straight left FAST AS HELL get to the rack and kick out nicely, I give him that, but if they take away his left hand, he is totally useless!!

The only two big man trades that may (notice the word MAY), make a diffrence for us this year would be Zack Randolph.... hard to get.... is a risk. Or Elton ( one of the worst contracts in the league) Brand. Both give us a go to Big guy in the post, and possibly change the game for us. AR and Jason Thompson, cant carry a team if need be, both Zack and Elton could in streaches.... you know , like when the rest of the ofense isnt working like against the Heat.

VC has always been a good distributor, he has like over 3500 career assists, he's going to help out alot once he gets the chance to play.

Why? So we can continue to watch other "real pf's" continue to demolish us? Or do we think we can afford a **** defensive pf because we have GORTAT now? We dont need amare or anyone like him, imo. Example being warrick.

With they way our team is made up, we need a legit go to player. Maybe some of you guys are right; either way VC is the best thing we have of now. Gortat is supposed to be a rebounder and defender, we are not going to get a beasty PF, been there, done that...we blew it. Rolo is appearing to develope into a "very" adequate offensive guy. If dude learns how to keep the ball high, alas Gasol, I'd be cool with him on O. Gortat focuses on defense and rebounding, Duds is OBVIOUSLY the perfect complementary defender spacer; PERIOD!

We need a creator, who can get to the hoop at will.

Well if the Suns just did it right the first time and actually built a dynasty, kinda like the Spurs, then we wouldn't be in this situation. Suns should have kept JJ, then kept Amare, and Nash. Boom. Our big three. The corner stone of the franchise, what Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are to the Spurs.
Anyways it's too late. Suns are pretty much going to suck for a while. Most of the all-stars are locked up for the next several years so the Suns can't even get them during free agency. We're gonna have to hope the Suns get some franchise type players in the draft.

That is exactly why I would love for VC to come off the bench. Dudley is playing great as a spot of three point shooter, courtesy of Nash.

Vince Carter is the only player on the team that can create his own shot. I want VC to play the role Jamal Crawford played for the Hawks last season, a shot creator, and scorer off the bench.

Nash
Duds
Hill
Lopez
Gortat

Dragic
VC
Pietrus
Warrick
Frye

I could live with that, could gentry. The problem, as always, is Hill. With Lopez and Gortat for defense, we'd need one more shooter spacing the floor. So you'd have to start pietrus or VC in place of Hill and no one would want to try that, even if it would make our team better, because it is always about Hill.....

Did is great, but if Crawford, Ginobli, Odom and others can come off the bench, he can too.

Nash/Dragic
Pietrus/VC
Duds/Hill
Lopez/Warrick
Gortat/Frye

Edit:

Actually Grant played better with the second unit last year. he can help Dragic instead of VC

Nash/Dragic
VC/Pietrus
Duds/Hill
Lopez/warrick
Gortat/Frye

Pietrus takes dudley place on the bench and Warrick takes Lou's spot....... Boy we should have kept Lou and not signed Warrick

Having a double team commanding wing is not necessarily something we've tried before, so we could wait and see.
But the PF spot is still a problem.

Anyways, I still agree with most of the things you've said.

I think Vince can definitely help this team be a major shot creator.

Vince definitely is still able to create his own shot, and with him in the starting lineup, he can still score 15-20 at ease but still be able to create for others.

With Nash, he doesn't have to be that main scorer anymore, + VC and Grant can take control.

Give Gortat a chance at the 4 because he can definitely run with the best. You even heard in the press conference, he's willing to take on the Dirks and Tim in the league. Give him a chance and start Lopez at the 5. I'd love that lineup.

Nash/Dragic
VC/Dudley/Chill
Hill/Pietrus/Chill
Gortat/Warrick
Lopez/Frye

I'd give that a chance.

We could do that trade. :D
Send the Nuggets three first round draft picks (Suns, Magic, Knicks).

Nash/Dragic
Dudley/Pietrus
Hill/Chill
Nene/AR/Warrick
Lopez/Gortat

Suns now have five big guys!! Warrick should no longer be in the rotation though...
