Re: What made you fan of the Nets?
I have always lived in North Jersey, but honestly my first favorite team was Indiana. When I was in elementary school I HATED how everyone liked all the New York teams like the Knicks and Giants. When I started watching sports in the late 80s early 90s I became fans of Randall Cunningham and Reggie Miller (still my two favorite athletes of all time). When I got a little older and the Nets got Sam Cassell I started to support the home team Nets. Ive been a fan ever since. And still a fan of the Eagles, unless New Jersey ever gets a team.

Re: What made you fan of the Nets?
My dad took me to a game when I was 9 or so.
He likes the Mets and Jets, and I grew up a Yankees and Giants fan because of the large number of games I went to for those teams.
So I guess I'd say it was just great to finally have a sports team to like along with my dad, and I never gave them up and never will.

Re: What made you fan of the Nets?
I grew up liking many teams (76ers, Rockets, Grizzlies), but watching VC and Kidd light it up every night made me a Nets fan. Since I live in the South it was hard for me to watch the games, but now that I know how to stream all the games I started following them hardcore this season.
Brooklyn Nets

Sam Cassel came to the Boys and Girls club and ran a full court game with us.Also handed out tickets for everyone ,thats when i started watching the Nets.Kerry Kittles with the one long sock up lol I used to always say we have talent but we're just missing that one piece.I was happy when we got the #1 pick and signed Marbury,I really thought things would turn around.Didn't really work out but my senior year in highschool we traded starbury for Kidd and the rest is history, thats when i became a diehard faN.It just felt so good to have a winning team from NJ and they played 5 minutes away from my house.

Became a fan of the Nets because of Kidd, and stuck around because of this board.

I was sititng 9 rows behind that hoop as it came down. I have a picture on my wall that we snapped as it was happening from my season ticket seats.
During the long delay to change the backboard I can be seen in the camera shot as the new backboard is coming in. I have it on tape somewhere...although like my hair line...it has faded over time.

Re: What made you fan of the Nets?
As a kid I was a fan of the Celtics...late 70's early 80's. I live in NY...always have but...
I absolutely DESPISED the Knicks. At a fever pitch during the Riley years for me. Hated the Lakers...and then hated the style he brought to that bunch of thugs.
When I was in HS...became a die hard Syracuse fan. When The Heat drafted Seikaly and Sherman Douglas in back to back years...I because a Heat fan my first couple of years of college.
The with the 1st pick of he 1990 draft...the NEts take Derrick Coleman out of Syracuse university. As he walked from the green room in his yellow mustard suit...I was already a convert.
The next year...Nets on the clock 2nd pick...and they take Kenny Andersen over Billy Owens from Syracuse who goes one pick later even though we had Mookie Blaylock. I was crushed!
Of course both picks were wrong...should have taken Mutombo who went 4th.
Anyway...the Cuse connection is what started it for me. Became a season ticket holder right after that...and had tickets for several years. I think it was Section 7 or 9...I think it was row J..seats 5-6.
