Problem with Troy Murphy?

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Fri Dec 24, 2010 8:17 am

I don't understand why Troy Murphy has received such limited minutes. (but recently saw a large amount of time) Has he really not fit in with the offense? I remember reading that he and AJ did not talk, and that cannot be a positive sign.

He can't defend. He bricks threes, mid range shots, reverse layups and even free throws.

I wanted to see what he could do when given a fair shot. Avery has given him some guaranteed PT as a backup PF these last games after one fluke game and he did not do good.

He's useless.

His defense and rebounding have been as expected (bad and good) but for some reason he's not hitting open shots :-/... I don't think his situation has been handled ideally and I'd still like to see what he can do with starters minutes but in the limited time he's been given his offense just hasn't clicked.

He's obviously off his game....that's why he's not getting minutes.

HE'S the player who's absolutely useless when he doesn't score. That is why i got so upset when some of you guys claimed that Lopez was almost useless when he didn't score. When Murphy's shot isn't falling he's invisible on the court. His rebounding ability is way over stated, most of them land in his hands, rarely does he fight for rebounds (successfully that is). He a mediocre passer, terrible defender nor can he block a shot to save his life. The definition of hollow stats.. it doesn't surprise me that he has yet to make the playoffs in his career.
