There is no disputing the fact that it would give us one of the best forward rotations in the NBA. You add one of the NBA's best defenders in Wallace which is something we lack badly. It creates a matchup nightmare when you can mix and match Love, Beasley, and Wallace. It ensures that we have at least one of the NBA's best rebounders at all times.

I'd be ok with it, although he's much less of a SG than Iggy, so I'd prefer the latter. I'm sure that some will say that he's too old, because apparently it is against the rules to add any established veterans to the team until Love and Beasley are "in their prime" in 5 years.

Those are some good qualities, but our main problem is at PG, followed by SG. I think we need to address those two problems first before we worry about our SF position.

I think center and shooting guard are the positions that we have the biggest holes, but I don't think we should limit ourselves to improving any specific position.

I love Crash. He's probably one of my favorite players in the league (Top 5). The problem with getting him puts our best player chart like this:

1. Kevin Love - PF, C
2. Gerald Wallace - SF, PF, SG
3. Beasley - SF, PF

He's real good, but maybe too good for our team. I know piling up on talent is usually better, but having a super logjam at one position doesn't help us much.
I would like someone who can be a Tweener forward who plays great D added to our team, but Wallace is too good of a talent for our team right now. I'd rather have someone who would be cheaper come next year like Prince, AK47, or just anyone who is a lanky SF who can play good D.

What do we think could get us Wallace? I don't think I'd be willing to move more than Brewer, a 1st rounder, and one of our PGs (probably Telfair).

That's the reason I want him.

But I mentioned him a little while ago and people weren't that interested. I'd like him, but I've wanted him on this team for years so I'm a little biased. It would also depend on how much they were asking for him. If it's mostly capspace, maybe take on Diop as well, I'd be fine with it. But if it's Johnson+picks+extra+capspace, I'd walk away.

I thought that Gerald Wallace has a career threatening back injury? Didn't he miss lots of time to injuries and I thought I read reports saying that he could have an early end to his career related to back issues?

Also, they said Detroit is very receptive? Really? They want to bring in Wallace or S. Jackson (a player from his Indiana days that was in the stands punching out fans during the Palace Brawl)?

This. I've got no issue with Crash's age but I do with his positional fit.

I would rather have Iggy. I think getting an extra year and a half of Iggy's prime is worth the extra money. Then add in the fact that Iggy is a better fit position wise and skillwise in our offense. I would also rather have Monta because of his age, position, and skill set. Wallace is a good player, just not right for a team who has three of their best five players as small forwards already. Obviously one would have to go in the trade, but then that still doesn't solve our problems and need on offense.

96/3 = 32 minutes per player, which doesn't include any time Love potentially could play at center. I agree that it makes a logjam, but that's not the worst problem to have.

With that said, I would propose Ridnour and Johnson for Wallace. It would be great if we could unload Hayward too.

Give me Gerald Wallace any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I love him. If he can be had for a reasonable price. Do it.
