Andre Blatche anyone?

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Sat Dec 25, 2010 3:31 pm

Marc Stein: Even before McGee tiff via @Michael Lee, Wiz said to be disappointed w/Blatche since extension and have discussed trying to trade Blatche

What do you guys think about him? He got into a fight with McGee outside of a clun in D.C. Does he make too much? Is he a good fit? Does he have a bad attitude?

Warrick and Orlano's first maybe?

No rebounds.
No defense.
Takes bad shots.
Known to be a head case.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I definitely think he's worth looking at. If you go to the Wizard's board overall you'll see they consider Wall-McGee-Young-Blatche their core. However I think they would trade Blatche under the right conditions, and this recent incident might provide the right conditions.

While I like Blatche a lot, my main concern is about character. If I remember correctly he got benched by Flip Saunders earlier this year for not listenening to the coaches. Flip publicly chewed Andray out at a press conference and called him immature. Now this incident. TBH - the situation with Blatche and the Wizards reminds me of the situation between the Kings and deMarcus Cousins. Cousins is immature and makes dumb decisions and the coach is on his a$$ all the time. Same with Blatche. A change of scenary and working with Nash and Hill could help him a lot.

Stats
Age: 24
6'11", 260 pounds
17 ppg, 7.7 rpg in 35 minutes (close to what Amare was putting up for Suns)

Not sure how good defensively he is. Again he has ability, but to me it is more about his attitude.

Didn't he miss an open dunk attempt on a fast break this last week?

If there is any chance we can trade Warrick for him, I would go for it.. He can't be any worse on D and rebounding.. Or can he be?

Definately, I know he may not be a high character guy but it doesn't hurt to take a chance. Right now he's on a young team but if he were to come to the Suns he would be surrounded by vets like Nash, Hill, etc and maybe that would rub off on him.

Blatche makes Amare look like a defensive beast. Watching him is embarrassing because he constantly missed rotations, he's lazy, and he takes awful shots. Easy pass.

So we want to get a guy because he got in a fight with a teammate?

If we're going to get a headcase, might as well make it one that Rebounds, Zach Randolph anyone?
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

The guy is a complete and utter fool who doesn't know how to play basketball. You could call him insane because he keeps doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
Here is a typical Andray Blatche move (I live in DC so I see him play a lot):
Get to the FT line.
Start doing some crossovers instead of jabsteps or square up.
1)lose the ball OR
2)fadeaway jumoer OR
3)lose the ball

Last year he said he wasnt paid enough because he thought he would be an all star this season. Rick Kamla has a rant about him on nba.com. Plus he doesnt rebound.

This shows how immature he is:

he's 1 rebound shy of a triple double so starts bitching at his teammates for the last reboound

but he has potential

How about Warrik for Lou.
