I like it alot, a huge winger (around 6'4") to play with Sundin. Zubrus was pretty decent for the Caps when he played with AO. He's got some touch around the net....but I hope he can show some grit.

I just don't like the combo of Blake and Zubrus, co-worker predicted it 2 months ago

What's wrong with the combo? Zubrus has grit, just like Blake does. Blake has got the quickness to succeed for the Leafs, and Zubrus can pot 20 goals a season.

Signing Zubrus would provide this team with much needed depth on the Wing. We'd be a pesky, physical team with the likes of Gill, Tucker, Zubrus, Blake, McCabe and Bell....and even Poni and Antropov at times.

It's not official yet, it SEEMS done but we also thought Nylander was signing in Edmonton this morning

Whoever Your co-worker is, would you ask him to write down a few numbers for the 649 draw for me...

I only thought Blake might be on our radar but never saw Toskala, Bell and Zubrus, although a friend of mine also mentioned Zubrus? His name must have been mentioned in connection with us at some time...

well the thing with my co-worker was just a joke, I wasn't using him as a source or anything. He was just kinda joking about it too.

as for a trade, nothing new since yesterday when Kubina and Raycroft were almost traded to Edmonton, but they chose to do the Flyer's deal instead

Hey MAS, if the Leafs do not get Zubrus are they going to pursue Kozlov? Howard Berger was saying that the Leafs were targeting him. Personally, I would rather have Kozlov. I am not sold on Zubrus either and do not want to get into a bidding war with the Isles who are probably desperate to overpay to have ANYbody come to their team.

Also, any news relating to Raycroft or Kubina since the deal with the Oilers fell through?

Also I wouldn't call a 2 year $ 4 million per season contract with Bertuzzi a "bargain." He has yet regained (albeit he's beein injuried) the form he should pre-Steve Moore incident. However, if there is one place where he could regain his place as a top power forward in this league it is definitely in Anaheim. The jury is still out on this deal.
