* New Jersey sends Portland the Nets 2011 first rounder in the proposed deal.

I'm assuming this deal would be made to entice 'Melo, right? What if he doesn't come? Then we traded away a 22 year old center avg 19 ppg on a rookie deal, our 1st round pick, Our biggest expiring, a rookie and another expiring for an Above average PF being paid like an all star, an aging PG and a disgruntled SG that has played like crap the past year and a half. If carmelo doesn't come we're screwed completely since our roster would be this:

Favors/Petro
Aldridge/Humphries
Outlaw/Graham
Morrow/Vujacic
Harris/Miller/Farmar

We'd still be a terrible team, who gave up all of our cap space, our lottery pick and the little flexibility we have for LaMarcus Aldridge.. No thanks.

Ditto. Couldn't have said it better myself.

This is more like it:

Vujacic = (Morrow, Uzoh, Graham) in the trade machine

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=25mk4ke

Nets receive: Melo, Roy, Nene

DEN receives: Favors, Murphy, Vujacic, 2011 NJN 1st, 2013 NJN 1st

POR receives: Harris, Lopez, Ross, LAL pick, GSW 2012 pick

Leaving:

Farmar/ Uzoh
Roy/Morrow
Melo/Outlaw
Humphries/James
Nene/Petro

with 2 picks (NJ and HOU) in 2012 which could be a deep draft due to prospects staying in school due to potential lockout

Then make a run at Paul next season.
